I've wanted to build this since the Fire Brigade set came out. Before I finally got round to starting earlier this year I Googled to see if any one else had posted their version and found www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=406569 via www.classic-town.net/?paged=55 which is simply fantastic. I have borrowed heavily but tried to do my own thing in several areas.

Still a bit to do, mostly on the interior, but I'm pretty pleased so far. I have put in some life lights including the lamp post but I need to reorganise these now that the building is closer to completion.

I added skis on either side that slightly raise one track or the other to turn. Pull the right handle, raise the right track and the left track turns the machine to the right. Vice versa for the left. I was told that the commercially available turning track snowblowers broke easily, especially if turned on dry ground. My simpler system worked very well except that it was hard to use when on a trailer ramp. It made the ski lever tilt back instead of forward. It needed another cable or something to hold it in position. It was not hard to turn on slippery ground without the skis so because of the trailer problem I took the skis off. In the picture, the ski and handle are not actually installed, especially the handle which would be close to the user's hand. I believe I used a one inch wide homemade "rubber band" to hold it up in position. Each ski assembly was attached by three bolts, two below and one for the handle. I extended the chute contol handle about 6 inches to get out of the way of the handle I added.

Snowblower is a 32 inch 10hp Sears. I drove almost to the upper peninsula in Michigan to get this snowblower through ebay. I live near Indiana in Michigan.

It's always a delicate and not entirely reliable balancing act to use what this tool was before I added the cross-member that's resting on the vise covers. Bottle boss heads weren't always held square, housing stop alignment could shift and sometimes the stop would slide radially. The relatively heavy cross bar is a simple approach that anchors fixture alignment adequately and rectifies those sorts of problems. I'm very happy with it.

I picked up a Plo for cheap at LEGO's Black Friday sale. Since I don't have him in mini-figure format, I decided to try my hand at removing the keychain.

The only tool I needed: A pair of needlenose pliers/snips. I cut off the top ring, then trimmed the screw down to the top of the torso's neck. There's a small divit on Plo's head where the screw went through it, of course, but you really don't notice it if you're not looking for it.

The paracord loop allows a neck lanyard to be attached, or a Maxpedition Keyper for use as a dangler

Vienna Concert House (2006)

The Wiener Konzerthaus was opened in 1913. It is on the 3rd Viennese district road (Lothringerstraße) at the edge of the Inner City between Schwarzenberg Square and City Park .

Architectural History

Ludwig Baumann planned Olympion Art Show 1908, the main building Concert Hall, detail

1890 for a planned house music festivals should be considered as multi-purpose building to address a broader public than the just 200 meters away traditional Viennese Musikverein. The design by architect Ludwig Baumann for a Olympion contained several concert halls except an ice rink and a Bicycleclub. In addition, an open-air arena should offer 40,000 visitors. The skating rink and its adjacent buildings were realized in 1899 by Baumann plans, the Art Nouveau ensemble but fell in 1960 to a construction of the InterContinental Hotels Group to the victim. The Vienna Ice Skating Club is located on the then reduced by about a third place today. The popular freestyle wrestling at the Haymarket took place here.

Organised by Gustav Klimt and his friends art exhibition Vienna 1908 was held in a temporary exhibition building on the undeveloped site of the later concert hall. The Wiener Konzerthaus was finally built 1911-1913 by the Europe-wide Viennese theater architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer Younger (Office Fellner & Helmer ) in collaboration with Ludwig Baumann.

The theme of the concert hall was:

A facility for the care of fine music, a collection of artistic aspirations, a home for music and a house for Vienna.

On 19 October 1913 the Concert Hall in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph I with a gala concert of the Vienna Concert Society was opened (now the Vienna Symphony Orchestra ). Richard Strauss composed this be Festive Prelude Op 61. Was combined with this modern work Beethoven's 9th Symphony - the juxtaposition of tradition and modernity should be so much in the first concert of the house.

The disintegration of Austria-Hungary brought tremendous social upheaval and financial crises - and thus flexibility and versatility was also necessary for lack of money. In addition to classical repertoire, there were in the 1920s and 1930s, important world premieres (including Arnold Schoenberg and Erich Wolfgang Korngold ), concerts with jazz and pop songs, speeches from science to spiritualism and poetry readings (including Karl Kraus ). Dance and ballroom events, some large conferences and world championships for boxing and fencing completed the program.

After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich in 1938, the program for impoverished "non- degenerate entertainment operation ", to many artists remained only the emigration.

After 1945, the concert hall also had the secondary task , " prop up " the bruised Austrian self-confidence in a musical way. In addition to the standard repertoire of classical and romantic and the Viennese Waltz , there were still premieres (eg Schoenberg's oratorio The Jacob's Ladder 1961) and international jazz and pop concerts. From May 1946 spaces for recording studios and administration at the German and in Vienna living music producer Gerhard Mendelson were rented, who is considered one of the most important pop producers in Austria in the postwar period.

After several modifications that changed the original Art Nouveau decoration slightly , the house was restored from 1972 to 1975 to the only slightly altered original plans. From 1998 to 2001 the house was renovated by architect Hans Puchhammer and expanded to include a new concert hall (New Hall) .

From 1989 to 2002 the Vienna Kathreintanz also took place in the concert hall .

The floor plan approximately 70 x 40 meters large concert hall with the main entrance at the Lothringerstraße and other inputs in the Lisztstraße includes Haymarket (Heumarkt) since the opening three concert halls:

The new hall (with 400 seats) was not established until the general renovation of 1998 to 2002. The new hall was renamed at the start of the 2009/2010 season in Berio-Saal.

Inside stands in the foyer of the original model created in 1878 by Kaspar von Zumbusch Beethoven Monument, which is situated opposite the Concert Hall at the Beethoven place. At the staircase there is a relief homage to Emperor Franz Joseph (1913 ) by Edmund Hellmer . Furthermore, a bust of Franz Liszt by Max Klinger to mention in 1904.

The complex of the concert hall and the building is part of the K. K Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (now the University of Music and Dramatic Art). Adjoining rooms for academic teaching purposes this part of the building also contains the Academy theater with 521 seats, which is used as a secondary stage of the Burgtheater world premieres among other modern plays.

Great Hall and Organ

The Great Hall has a capacity of 1116 visitors (ground floor) and additional 361 balconies and boxes, and 388 in the gallery. The auditorium is 750 m2 and 170 m2 of the podium. In the 1960s the hall was optimized by Heinrich Keilholz.

The organ was built in 1913 in the Great Hall of the Rieger organ (Rieger-Orgel) (Jägerndorf, Silesia) built. The instrument is located on the end wall of the big room, but has no visible Prospectus. The organ is located behind a grid and is thus hidden from the visitors. The cone-chest-116 instrument has five registers on manual and pedal works and is the largest organ in Austria. The special features of the organ counts, firstly, that the four manual divisions are swellable. In addition, the organ comprises a (swellable ) remote work with separate pedal. Stylistically, the organ is "Alsatian Organ reform " aimed at the so-called ideal of where along the lines of major instruments of Aristide Cavaillé -Coll, the strong voices are divided into two manuals. The tracker action is electro-pneumatic. For the inauguration of the instrument Strauss had the " Festive Prelude " for organ and orchestra composed. In 1982 the instrument was restored.

The concert hall is the main venue of the Vienna Symphony , the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Vienna Sound Forum. Since 1913 the Vienna Academy of Music has its permanent home of the Konzerthaus. Another Matchbox Series No4 Dodge K Series Stake Bed Truck Modification. 1966 to 1968 - 1-75 Series my second restoration of a stake bed. I like this color and I think it shows pretty good in the photos. Here it is as a bob tail, I like how it looks. What to add?

Soundwave's always been one of my favorite G1 characters. To do him right, I started with an oversized G1 Soundwave (courtesy of kotoys.com)

Here is the list of modifications made to Soundwave:

...- His plastic's been completely filled with epoxy to give him extra stability and weight.

- The articulated hands (all fingers move independently) are courtesy of Zildjian.

- The head was custom built using a variety of parts. (cast & available on ebay soon)

- The visor is clear red plastic and the head contains a red LED light, which runs to it's power supply and on/off switch in Soundwave's back.

- Soundwave's chest was also completely rebuilt and re-invented.

- Although "oversized" the chest holsters "regular" sized G1 cassettes.

- All details/mods were done w/ styrene.

- His waist also extends (telescope style) giving him another inch of height.

- His knees now bend back.

- His feet pivot to lay flat

- Decals were custom built and applied, most graphics are hand painted

- Embossed Decepticon symbol on chest is hand cut from styrene

Matchbox Series No4 Dodge K Series Stake Bed Truck Restoration. 1966 to 1968 - 1-75 Series. This is the second Stake bed I am restoring. I decided I will try and restore the old stake bed that is missing a few pieces and it is pretty rough with a few other cracks and warped from being crushed I guess. The plastic is pretty brittle but I have to try. This is my favorite box of toothpicks that I have had for years and I figure why not use some of them to fix it.

Removing this requirement would be beneficial because it would eliminate confusion about what species captain and crew of for-hire vessels can keep for personal consumption and make state rules consistent with federal rules.

If this proposed rule amendment is approved, this decision would be final and the rule will be filed without further hearing.

Matchbox Series No4 Dodge K Series Stake Bed Truck Restoration. 1966 to 1968 - 1-75 Series. This is the second Stake bed I am restoring. I bought it years ago at a swap meet. I have applied the Citristrip that works great on metal but don't use it on plastic it will eat plastic. The stuff is amazing and takes about 15 to 20 mins to strip a Matchbox.

A Nissan?

One common complaint is that the tach and speedo sit so low on the dash that they are hard to see. I'm going to set the 3/4" tube back by 3" so that these gauges can be relocated higher.

I used half stud offsets to be able to fit two minifigs comfortably, and just revamped the interior in general.

This is a custom case I made for a USB stick/USB drive. (The original case was ugly and flimsy.)

In 1934 Alfa-Romeo's brilliant engineer Vittorio Jano began secretly developing a racer with a mid-mounted V12 engine. Developed outside the Alfa works in the Fiume (now Rijeka) garage of Gino and Oscar Jankovits, the project stalled when Jano left Alfa-Romeo in 1937. Unable to use the V12, the brothers settled for a less powerful 6C 2300 unit. Their 'Aerospider' remained hidden until 1946, when Gino fled Communist rule, driving under the frontier barrier into Italy in a hail of bullets.

Based on a standard Polaroid 100 Automatic Land Camera, this camera has been extensively modified to be able to shoot at professional standards.

The original f8.8 lens and automatic shutter have been replaced with a 1950's, Zeiss Ikon 110mm, f4.5 Novonar, "Red V" edition lens, which is mounted in a Pronto size 0 shutter. The red "V" symbol on the lens means that it was made from Zeiss Ikon's highest quality glass and coatings. You can think of this lens as the Zeiss equivalent to the Canon L series of glass.

The shutter features full X-sync for flash, cable release socket, bulb mode and self timer, making it perfect for shooting in all scenarios. Best of all, the shutter has 10 aperture blades for a smooth circular aperture hole throughout the range. A Polaroid 180 and 195 in comparison only have 5 blades. This means smooth, circle-shaped bokeh-ball highlights instead of ugly pentagon-shaped ones.

The new 110mm lens is not only faster than the original lens, but also much sharper. The camera delivers sharpness and bokeh on par with a Polaroid 180. It features a beautifully shallow depth of field when wide open, with lovely bokeh. Coverage is 100% full frame, with no vignetting.

The 110mm, Zeiss lens has been re-calibrated and mounted to focus as optimal as possible with the original 114mm rangefinder. Sharp portraits on this camera are the number one priority, and that is where it excels. The close distances are 100% tack sharp, even when shot wide open at f4.5!

Any drift between finder and lens that occurs is minimal, and occurs only towards infinity distances, where would would usually stop down the aperture anyway (nobody wants to shoot a landscape picture wide open).

The front lens board was laboriously hand filed to shape to keep the camera looking original, and has been finished in a genuine black cowhide for added luxury.

Lastly, a German-made shutter release cable has been built into the body, to make it easy to fire the shutter.
