beneath the cathedral-like ribs of the ciudad de las artes y las ciencias, a small story unfolds. the mother, standing still, frames the scene with her phone. a child runs toward the father, the other already within reach. he bends down, arms opening, ready to gather them close.
it’s a moment of intimacy, framed by cold precision. the architecture is towering, mathematical, almost merciless in its symmetry. yet this fragile family moment – soft, fleeting – defies it all.
the starkness of black and white strips the image of distraction, leaving only the contrast. the human, the monumental. the personal, the grand. it’s a scene where time feels slowed, yet you know it passed in an instant.

Modern architecture with an organic touch. The new cultural centre in The Hague/The Netherlands: Amare
The Kings House Hotel is a remote inn at the eastern end of Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands. The inn, which is in an isolated position about 2 km east of Glen Etive, stands on the edge of Rannoch Moor. It faces Buachaille Etive Mor which makes it a popular hostelry with rock climbers. In 2019 the hotel was reopened after a substantial modern redevelopment which involved the demolition of a large 1960s extension. Only the original 18th-century coaching inn was retained and incorporated into the new building.
The inn is called the King's House because it was used as a barracks by the troops of the Duke of Cumberland during the subjugation of the Highlands by the British Army following the Jacobite Rising of 1745.

A shot of the recently opened Barbara Hepworth building at Huddersfield University. The building looks to be balanced precariously, hence my title.

...I think that the designer here was taking a day off to stay home with a sick three year old who built a model with Lego Duplo.
The buildings are indeed spectacular, but does not really fit in here, in this part of the city.

munich’s münchner freiheit—a subway station that breathes freedom only in name. people pass through this gleaming tunnel, each lost in their own thoughts, their mirrored selves floating above. the ceiling swallows reality and reflects it back, distorted. a place that feels like a scene from a novel: cold, stark, and strangely oppressive. perhaps it’s the clinical contrast of light and shadow, hinting at the illusion of control. perhaps it’s the faces we cannot see. every step is quiet, almost invisible—like the traces we leave behind in life. a snapshot of routine, yet brimming with unspoken questions.
