The tallest building in San Francisco. 1,070 feet (326m). Built between 2013-2018. Architects: Pelli Clarke Pelli. The building cost $1.1 billion to build.

Embarcadero Center (complex built throughout the seventies) and the Transamerica Pyramid (completed in 1972).

The library opened almost exactly 25 years ago, on April 18th, 1996, the 90th anniversary of the great San Francisco earthquake and fire. Architects are James Ingo Freed and Cathy Simon. The atrium is 5 stories high, topped by the skylight.

a staircase that never ends. up or down? does it matter? time bends, movement blurs. only the void remains.
