The Beechcraft Model 18, or "Twin Beech", as it was better known, is a 6-11 place,[2] twin-engine, low-wing, conventional-gear aircraft that was manufactured by the Beech Aircraft Corporation of Wichita, Kansas. This model saw military service during and after World War II in a number of versions including the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) C-45 Expeditor, AT-7 Navigator, AT-11 Kansan; and for the United States Navy (USN), UC-45J Navigator and the SNB-1 Kansan.
The Beech 18 is the most modified U.S.-certified aircraft design, with over 200 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) on record for the aircraft.
The aircraft's uses have included aerial spraying, sterile bug release, fish seeding, dry ice cloud seeding, aerial firefighting, airborne mail pick up and drop, ambulance service, numerous movie productions, skydiving, freight, gun- and drug-smuggling, engine test bed, skywriting and banner towing. A number of Model 18s were operated as passenger aircraft; the Model 18 was the first aircraft flown by Philippine Airlines, Asia's first and oldest airline. Many are now in private hands as prized collectibles.

The original photo of six model railway friends (I was the seventh), photographed in Palmerston North at the 1982 Grand Central Model Railway Convention. The next timne we were ALL together again was on 24/04/2000 for the 2000 Christchurch Convention (another photo taken in same order - yet to be uploaded), and then again on 04/04/2010. All three photos taken on Easter Sunday of the respective years.

This is a high-quality, FULLY ASSEMBLED replica of the clipper that sailed out of the port of Galveston, Texas, in the mid-1800s.
Master craftsmen using historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.
This beautiful Harvey model features: a varnished two tone colors wood on the hull, plank on frame, and two decks. The front bowsprit and three large masts are connected securely using advanced rigging and lines painstakingly knotted and fastened by hand. Each yard has an attached hand-stitched unfurled sails made of fine linen. Metal anchors and a wooden rudder are visible on the front and rear of the ship. On the deck, there are metal stationed cannons, wooden windlass, bell tower, and many other spectacular ornaments.
This model comes standard with a solid wood base and brass nameplate. It’ll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast or passionate collector.
History The Harvey was built in 1847 in the state of Maryland. She was an able sailer working out of the port of Galveston Texas. At the turn out the Century she was making several voyages a year between Galveston and the ancient Jewish port of Jaffa which at the time was still under the Ottaman empire. Her main cargo was hemp used to make ropes for the rigging of ships.

The Postcard
A postally unused Cotman-Color Series postcard published by Jarrold & Sons Ltd. of Norwich. The card was printed in Great Britain, and has a divided back.
The Skegness Model Village
The Skegness Standard featured the following article on the 25th. April 1962:
'An Easter Debut For New Model Village.
Attractions of Ronans Magna, a village you
won’t find marked in the motoring handbooks,
include a moated manor house, ancient Church,
gypsy encampment, winding river and a
swimming pool.
The village has been made in the last year by
Mr. John Simmonds and his wife, and on
Wednesday morning it was declared open by
the Chairman of Skegness Council, Mrs. Elsa
Barratt.
The model village will be open throughout the
year, and the place will really live, for Mr.
Simmonds intends to change the sets at different
times.
Within the next week or two, he will replace
footballers on a school field with white-clad
cricketers!
For 12 months Mr. Simmonds has been busy
designing the buildings, some of which are
based on existing buildings in Kent and
Somerset, manufacturing the weatherproof
materials and then doing the construction
work. Recent bad weather has not made his
job any easier.
Many model figures were made by his wife.
After opening Skegness’s latest attraction, Coun.
Mrs. Barratt was conducted around the model
village. She was accompanied by the Town Clerk,
Mr. Milton Turner, Councillors, Council officials
and other guests'.
The model village is still going strong to this day. Admission is currently (2021) modestly priced at £3 for adults and £2.50 for children.
