imagine if all those empty missile slots could fit one person....the heavyarms can be used for human smuggling!
I got an old Dark Phoenix model kit and it was hideous so I set to work re-sculpting and re-painting her, what do you think? I am a little happier with her now
The air-landing "Helldiver" is built almost 100% out of the box - just some hydraulics were added inside of the opened air brakes on the lower legs, and the head received some hydraulic rams as added details.
Furthermore the cockpit hatch was with the pilot lifted high enough to have a look "out of the Labor's breast" - it's actually a 1:72 figure, but it's acceptable as a 1:60 Japanese person ;)
Painting was done with Tamiya Acrylics, and the kit slightly weathered/dusted.
The small diorama was built on a 8x8" base, with real wood pieces and real earth for the forest ground it is supposed to simulate. Additionally, some moss and foam leafs were used.

totally nuts box. Reminds us of those silly establishing shots on "how it's made" where the object is hovering on a platform on the beach.
Fujimi Suzuki Escudo/Vitara. Fitted with different chassis to show how it looks with oversize tires.
This is basically a pre painted model kit that I repainted using the CGI renders as reference. The model itself is one of the most accurate looking figures (or even statues for that matter) of the Bay-verse Optimus Prime, so adding a paint job just makes it look spot on. The truck parts were coated using an automotive clear coat, so it's super shiny.
Finally I added light up eyes, which really seal the deal and bring this guy to life!
The blades are removable by removing the forearm panels and he also features a interchangeable faceplate (regular mode with mouth and battle mode)
Just for the record, this model is almost the same size as ROTF leader class Prime and a little taller than MP-10.
Just completed this groovy model kit of the famous Monkeemobile from the classic TV series "The Monkees". This kit was reproduced by AMT I believe in the 90's sometime. Hey Hey we're the Monkees....Oh gosh got carried away but if you feel the urge go ahead and finish signing the song outload. It's allowed here in Paul's Basement where all us 60's kids are still kids...They may be coming to your town !!!!
This vintage model kit (toy, really) has a very basic internal die-cast metal skeleton with plastic panels that affix via nylon bushes & pegs. Once assembled, it has a real nice feel & weight to it, with pleasing proportions and aesthetics.
The packaging consists of a polystyrene foam tray with lid, and cardboard outer box. The box art is nice - featuring a great old-school illustration of a 3D model 'cutaway' of the Labor. Recommended!
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V full interior. Actually this kit is Tamiya's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI. But I didn't like the front bumper and its rear wing. Luckily a friend of mine have the Evo V rally version and willing to trade with Me. Bought in 1999. Finished in Tamiya Chrome Yellow, with white18" CR-Kai from Aoshima. Interior is done in German Grey and blue. Change the steering wheel to after market.

. . . only about 6 inches high. Incredible highly detailed model of a machine tool I have spent many many years working.

A picture of the "NieR: Automata - Pod 042 - YoRHa No. 2 Type B - Flight Unit Ho229 Type-B & 2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B) plastic model kit" by Kotobukiya & Square Enix. The robot is from the YoRHa No. 9 Type S - Nendoroid (#1576).
The scene is set within a city with A2 in her flight unit hovering above the ground after destroying a Robot, smoke is still coming of the robot after it has just been shot. The robot and the smoke are is focus with A2 and her flight being more blurry behind it.

Finely built Revell 1-72nd scale helicopter built by Dilip Sethi to my specification colour scheme and registration. Well if I can never own a full sized "copter" . . . .
This is a kit conversion of Bandai's ARL-99B "Helldiver" kit. I found the idea of a military Labor in JGSDF use pretty conclusive, so I cooked up this close relative as a pure ground use Labor. So, the "Raijin" has become a light and highly mobile army support Labor for the Japanese Army during the Millennium era, its use would be observation/scouting, support for light/mobile ground troops and tasks which would call for high mobility and secrecy, e .g. as an enemy Labor/tank sniper...
The basic Helldiver frame was kept, but the conversion includes a different head and cockpit arrangement, as well as "normal" legs - the air brakes from the ARL-99B have been "closed", the holes PSRed away. I also added hand-held armament: a single-action anti-labor rifle for sniping purposes (a converted piece from a 1:144 Gundam RX-79) and a kind of machine pistol (from the same donor kit), kept in a hip holster, but detachable.
The 3-color camouflage scheme was inspired by JASDF fighter paint schemes - the SEA-style scheme used on RF-4E Phantom II's and F-1 fighters. I just got the colors VERY wrong - at the time I built this model, I just had a few print pictures of such aircraft, and I ended up with Humbrol 66, 98 and 121 as basic colors, the brown and green ended up much too dark. This looks a bit wacky, esp. for Japan, but when the model is placed into typical Japanese mountaineous landscape or into a forest setting, it fits surprisingly well!
The diorama was built on a 8x8" base and includes some rocks (made from plaster and water-based paint), a small pond in the front and a tree that is to remind of a mountain pine. I based the sloped ground on pictures from Japanese mountain sites.
