Another homage to The Empire Strikes Back -- probably my most favorite movie of all time.

I walk past this sculpture every day as I walk from my van. I actually drive a caravan, so this sculpture amuses me particularly. I think a full-sized version of those dinky little plastic model kits with the punch-out parts is rather brilliant.

gift from P. I assembled it on Christmas morning. It works, too! (makes a ton of noise)

Every toy and hobby company has started design work and development of new products that never make it into production. Despite the fact that some of these new items are announced at industry trade shows, appear in consumer advertising and even show up on the packaging of other items in the line, disappointing initial orders and other factors can kill the proposed product before it reaches the retail shelves.

Back in 1966, Revell announced a trio of new plastic figure kits that didn’t make the grade – Prince Valiant, The Chipmunks and Disney’s Winnie-the-Pooh. Valiant was a follow up to the two comic strip characters Revell released the year before, Flash Gordon and The Phantom. The Chipmunks and Pooh Bear were attempts at attracting younger kids to model building.

Aurora made a kit that was remarkably similar to the Lindberg version, which was unusual at the time because Aurora models could be usually counted on to be less detailed. The comically hand-colored photo of "Duke" Windsor gave this box a somewhat off-beat character.

AIRFIX HMS MANXMAN & HMS SUFFOLK 1:600 SCALE PLASTIC MODEL KITS

This was a snap-together model that clings to walls.

This is basically a pre painted model kit that I repainted using the CGI renders as reference. The model itself is one of the most accurate looking figures (or even statues for that matter) of the Bay-verse Optimus Prime, so adding a paint job just makes it look spot on. The truck parts were coated using an automotive clear coat, so it's super shiny.

Finally I added light up eyes, which really seal the deal and bring this guy to life!

The blades are removable by removing the forearm panels and he also features a interchangeable faceplate (regular mode with mouth and battle mode)

Just for the record, this model is almost the same size as ROTF leader class Prime and a little taller than MP-10.

This is my first commission job for Gundams. I'm happy with the results, although it was a pain to assemble. Paint work went all right, however, there were some incidents of Spider web spray phenomena with Mr. Hobby paints. I suspect the wrong cleaning detergent used to prepare the air brush before the actual paint work.

This kit box in particular had lots of incident of plastic breakage. I suspect its a manufacturer defect.

Never the less leaving all that aside, right now we have it here, not much of a pose i must say (^_^).

Tamiya's 1/72 Douglas Skyray, with stores added.

Dual Kit Bumblebee work in progress. I intended on leaving all of the yellow parts' inner side uncolored, but I was unhappy with how it was affected by light. I used primer, silver, and light gunmetal. On some parts I colored wires red, green, yellow, white, and copper. Then I applied a Tamiya flat black wash. Weathering consists of flat black, metal, grey, and silver along with scrapes via an x-acto knife. Still not done.

I added an orange chrome sticker and an aurora sticker for the headlights.

That's it for now..
