AMT 3 1968 Ford Galaxie XL GT models. The green was used for parts to fix the promo and the white one was used to fix the restored green fastback. The glass was used from the ebay kit and had a glue mark. My buddy Tulio told me to wet sand the glass and buff it, so I did. Took a while and I do have a bench buffer that did the trick. Looks perfect. The yellow Dealer promo was purchased in Dallas TX for $50 and needed some TLC, in good shape too. Not sure what I will do with the ebay white one, more parts.

The first kit I've ever attempted to paint. It's been a long slog, but I've reached the point where I'm ready to call this project complete, barring a coat of varnish to protect the paintwork.

I took some shortcuts with painting this kit; since I don't have an airbrush, all painting is done by hand, and is painted selectively to add colour where the base plastic is not sufficient. Therefore, the main fuselage is not painted. This did cause problems later on when trying to apply waterslide decals, which didn't adhere properly (I've since found out that I made inadequate preparations to apply the decals, lacking the proper chemicals, and patience). I've used stickers instead, and while the colours are not the same, they worked very well.

The WD-40 was used to clear masking tape residue from the glass panes on the canopy, and to provide the cockpit with an authentic smell. The canopy was a pain, because it doesn't have a good tight fit once attached to the fuselage. There's an alternative canopy, without glass, but that just doesn't look right.

All the panel lines have been inked so the details stand out, and that worked really well.

Gundam Model Kit Contest 2016 - Philippines

Aurora released this as part of their Prehistoric Scenes snap-together model kits in the 1970's. It was molded in copper colored plastic. This re-issue in brown was made by Monogram. They reissued it multiple times in the later '70's and '80's. It's a well sculpted kit with a hinged jaw that opens and closes, a tongue that moves up and down, legs swivel, tail moves, and head slides up and down.

Gunk wash of smaller parts of my retro 1989 Millennium Falcon. About 2.5 hours of work today using sepia, agrax earth shade, and nuln oil to dirty it up. A lot of the Falcon models I see are pretty pristine. I decided to make this throwback model really dirty because the Falcon is, after all, the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. Still a lot of work to do. Next time will be doing some panel liner that I missed as well as dry brushing some silver necron compound around panel edges.
