....spotted in a window on St Catherine's Hill, Frome in Somerset.
Frome began as a Saxon village. The name Frome is believed to come from a Celtic river name fram, meaning, brisk or fair. The history of Frome begins in the 7th century AD. About 685 the Abbot of Malmesbury, St Aldhelm, founded a monastery there. Soon a settlement grew up by the monastery.
The monastery seems to have disappeared from Frome by the end of the 11th century. However in the 13th century a chapel was built dedicated to St Catherine. It gave its name to Catherine Hill.

So this fellow brings his boats to the park to interact with the waterfowl. I would come up with some sort of system to fire foam tipped missiles at the geese. Though I think the geese would quickly destroy a lifetime of work.
Participants take practice laps to get a feel for the course, Thursday, Sept 9, 2010, at the annual Clock-tower Boat Race held on Lake George in Hobart, IN. The boats travel at 60 to 90 mph around buoys set up on the lake. Participants come from across the nation and from as far away as Canada, Europe and Bermuda. The 2010 event is scheduled for Sept. 10-12.
