My favorite of the two. It was my first time shooting food. I REALLY loved it and hope to shoot more in the future.
Grade on my CB is 15/20.
Comments: "You have done well creating a concept for the brief you were given. The overall feeling of your board is one of spaciousness and lightness, lovely light and relaxed feel.Extra marks could have been given if you had included an image to portray US west coast."
Well i saw them commenting on 1 board being too obvious imagery of west coast, and now my beaches aint enough of a 'west coast' So take that in mind, its a tricky west coast out there! Also they commented my board would be better if it wasnt ordered for this assignment.
19/20 Tutor comment: "Well presented concept board which generally meets the brief of being west coast airy and unstructured."
However, he suggested it would be even better with fewer images (about half). Five or so seems to be a favoured number.

Tutor commented" You would have more impact if the pictures were bigger...the colour balance should reflect the colours you intend to use...print images out onto photographic paper which takes colour well"

You’ve covered a lot in the questionnaire and gone into some good detail. Taking a brief is one of the most crucial parts of a project, if it is done thoroughly then the design element becomes so much easier.
The questionnaire is as much for you as it is the client, it enables you to keep the client focused and get all the relevant information you require. You could have given yourself some more detailed prompts in a few areas; lighting, bathroom and kitchen. For example you could ask if the client wants different mood settings in their lighting, possibly a 5amp circuit for table lamps and floor lamps? Does the client put their make up on in the bathroom? i.e. will they need wall lights either side of a mirror etc etc....
The kitchen is a place where clients tend to be really specific about how they function. Gas or electric hob? Eye level or undercounter oven? Double or single oven? Hip height or undercounter dishwasher? Full size or half size dishwasher? Etc etc. You absolutely need to know the answers to these questions so put them down on the questionnaire, they key really is to cover every eventuality.
Demonstration of understanding of the given brief:
You have clearly understood the brief.

Fantastic, you have thought of every detail. Good use of tick boxes to speed up answering process. Easy to read and access information. Excellent presentation.

25/25 This is a very good start and you have definitely understood the idea of a client questionnaire. There is some good detail here but in some areas try not to be too specific i.e. giving 3 options on manufacturer of sanitary ware may lead your client to think that is the only choice. If you are looking to ascertain what style your client likes then word the question a little more loosely as you have done when enquiring about WC styles. Good line of questioning regarding storage, this is so important and one area which needs a great deal of attention and thought and can often be overlooked.
