This nestling mocking bird was rescued when a local woman's cat brought him into the house. He was just a naked baby when we got him, but is growing like a weed and getting more demanding every day.

Students from Huffman High School and Huffman Middle School meet with lawyer mentors at the Springville Road Regional Branch Library and prepare for their roles as prosecutors, defense lawyers, and judge in the Student Mock Trial Program.
Instructors include Central Library's Learning Center head Lance Simpson, Glennon Threatt of the Northern District of Alabama Public Defenders Office, and volunteers from the Birmingham Bar Foundation.
The students will present their mock trial at the Springville Road Library on November 16.
In 2005 EMU’s Mock Trial team made it, for the first time, to the National Mock Trail Tournament. The team qualified by taking fifth and seventh place out of 26 teams in the Midwest Regional Collegiate Mock Trial Tournament at Notre Dame University in February.

Use black tea as you would dark rum, or lighter tea
as you would white rum. If you don't have a fancy tea, start with a glass of plain Lipton. We're fond of Teavana's Moroccan Mint, a mixture of Chinese gunpowder (green tea) and dried spearmint. Moroccan Mint tends to be bitter, so don't overdo it (use about a tablespoon per quart of water). If dissolving the sugar by hand is a hassle, use simple syrup or make the entire batch in a large pitcher or shaker. -- Wendell Brock

Tragically, I lost a few magnets during a “Brazing mishap” and mocking up the brakes using one on each boss is a totally fun game of chasing your tail.
These two Maasai Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchii) engaged in a mock battle as they swung their heads to and fro while trying to strike their opponent with their horns.
