Once the outrigger table is sitting squarely on the edge of the sliding table, the Kipp lever mentioned previously can be pushed in, causing the securing bar circled in red to move outward and into a slot along the edge of the sliding table below the P-channel, then the Kipp lever can be turned, forcing the clamping bar upward, which in turn pulls the two hard plastic saddle mounts down against the P-channel squaring and securing the outrigger table to the sliding table.

Let's review how the outrigger table is secured to the sliding table. There is a Kipp lever where the outrigger table meets the sliding table. This Kipp lever can be rotated partially and pulled out or pushed in. The opposite side of this kip lever is a clamping bar on an eccentric cam which you can see in the next two photos.

The red circle in this photo calls out the clamping bar mentioned previously. The green circles call out hard plastic saddles that sit atop the prism edge (called the P-channel) of the sliding table, and register the outrigger table consistently square at two points of contact with the P-channel.

This event marks the culmination of the series, which has challenged 11 North American university teams to reengineer a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer utilizing electrification, advanced propulsion systems and automated vehicle technology to improve the energy efficiency, safety and consumer appeal of their vehicle.
