I used J C Rennie 4 ply wool and I adapted a Sasha pattern to make these mittens.
Now I need to make more........as all my girls would like mittens that fit them.
And as you can see.....my world is green again!
My favorite mittens...the top part detaches, hooks onto a ball and then they become fingerless gloves!
My favorite teacup too :)

I was hoping to get a sunset shot yesterday at The Mittens, but the clouds rolled in too fast, and there wasn't a sunset because of it, so I had to capture this shot. I am happy with this shot, but wish I could have got a sunset too.
Lucy likes helping the younger ones bundle up to go play outside but Prudence does not enjoy the multiple layers and being told what to wear.
- Lucy: "and don't forget your mittens!"
- Prudence: "you need to stop! I don't need all that"
Lucy just knows that if she doesn't dress accordingly, she'll soon be back and whining that she's cold! Happens all the time...

This is the east-most mitten (or butte) at Monument Valley. At sunset it lights up with this beautiful orange glow. I liked this image isolating it like a portrait.
This poor little button on my favorite "flip-top" mittens is about to fall off. Time to get out the needle and thread.

Our Navajo guide informed us that the “Mittens” (there are two) represent the hands of an ancient giant. His head is represented by another butte as is the other mitten. If you look closely there is a red hogan near the base of the butte giving an idea of the scale of the butte. Monument Valley, Arizona.
...a lot of what I like to spend time doing is taking photos of mittens.
About to do a little shop update.
Got a really pretty dress and skirts today. I'm going to make an attempt of photographing them maybe tomorrow, also I need a new profile image for internet/magazine things, the one I have is from almost two years ago and I look a bit different now!

Were the mittens the outreaching hands of mysterious ancient creatures? Or were they artifacts coined to declare an unknown purpose?
