Know you're bad for me, but you know I am too
Me and you together like a loved up bruise
I'll make you an offer that you can't refuse
Baby, you're okay
(Baby, you're okay)
No, you won't, won't go breaking my heart
You've seen that we got the same pain, same scar
Felt that when we got closer in the dark
Baby, I'm okay
(Baby, I'm okay)
Baby, when, when you're far away
I promise you I'll be good
I guess we're misunderstood
So baby, please, don't hear what people say
'Cause I've heard things 'bout you too
Makes me know that I'm for you
Oh, no, I don't care what's been done here before me
I don't give a damn, just as long as you care
'Cause, baby, I've been bad, but the heavens forgave me
You don't need to ask 'cause I'm already there
Let's be bad together, baby, you and I
Let's be bad together, if only for a while
Let's be bad together, make the devil smile
Let's be bad together, let's be bad together, ooh yeah
Nothing can stop us, we got it all
The love, the passion, but most of all
We mess up, but run from the scene
But I throw my hands up, if you know what I mean
'Cause I'm not afraid to tell you when you're wrong
And I know that you miss me when I'm gone
We make a great team
With you, I'm better than I've ever been
Baby, when, when you're far away
I promise you I'll be good
I guess we're misunderstood
So baby, please, don't hear what people say
'Cause I've heard things 'bout you too
Makes me know that I'm for you
Oh, no, I don't care what's been done here before me

Let's be bad together, if only for a while
Let's be bad together, make the devil smile
Let's be bad together, let's be bad together, ooh yeah
Let's be bad, babe, let's be bad
Let's be bad, babe, let's be bad
Let's be bad, babe, let's be bad
Let's be bad, babe
Oh, no, I don't care what's been done here before me

Made a wrong turn, once or twice
Dug my way out, blood and fire
Bad decisions, that's alright
Welcome to my silly life
Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood
Miss knowing it's all good, it didn't slow me down
Mistaken, always second guessing, underestimated
Look, I'm still around
Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel like you're nothing
You're fuckin' perfect to me
You're so mean (you're so mean)
When you talk (when you talk)
About yourself, you were wrong
Change the voices (change the voices)
In your head (in your head)
Make them like you instead
So complicated, look happy, you'll make it
Filled with so much hatred, such a tired game
It's enough, I've done all I can think of
Chased down all my demons, I've seen you do the same, oh
Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel like you're nothing
You're fuckin' perfect to me
The whole world's scared, so I swallow the fear
The only thing I should be drinking is an ice cold beer
So cool in line, and we try, try, try
But we try too hard and it's a waste of my time
Done looking for the critics 'cause they're everywhere
They don't like my jeans, they don't get my hair
Exchange ourselves and we do it all the time
Why do we do that, why do I do that?
Why do I do that?
Yeah, oh, oh pretty, pretty please
Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel like you're nothing
You're fuckin' perfect to me, yeah
You're perfect, you're perfect
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel like you're nothing
You're fuckin' perfect to me

For Smile on Saturday - part of human face
So sorry to the people who already faved and commented this image. I had to crop a part, because I misunderstood the theme in the group Smile on Saturday. So this is my new composition.
My soul is standing on the tiptoes,
Always trying to touch something high...
And she has got very tired look,
Such a silly, strange and lonely thing,
And always misunderstood by someone...

I recently (re)heard Randy Newman's song Short People.
It's basically a satirical song about the lunacy of prejudice as sung from the point of view of a lunatic.
Some people misunderstood and took it as serious.
I'm (pretty much) a medium people, Newman himself is (pretty much) a short people, and I know lots of tall people.
It's all ok. Just be kind......that's about it.
Here's the song for any interested.

Well, the carpet guys haven't showed up yet so I figured I'd post a shot lol. I'm going to start making some comments but obviously once the guys show up I'll have to log off. But I'll be back hopefully on Thursday.
Have a great day all! :)
UPDATE: I just called to see what time they are coming and can you believe they won't be here til NEXT Monday?!?! My hubby talked to the guy in charge last week so obviously he misunderstood him. Ugghh!! So now we have to go another whole week with no carpets (from our hot water heater breaking.....for those of you who didn't know). One good thing is I can be on Flickr now LOL!

April 27th is International Hyena Day which advocates for changing the public's perspective on hyenas, and seeing their importance on Earth.
Hyenas don't have the greatest reputation due to centuries of bad publicity through literature and folklore. Spread through Africa and Asia, hyenas are intelligent mammals living in clans of 10 to 120 animals. They are skilled hunters, and not only scavengers which still makes them essential to prevent the spread of disease. They have highly acidic stomachs to break down their food, even though it isn't the freshest quality...
Their "demonic laugh" is often misunderstood, as it occurs when a lower-ranking animal is stressed. Hyenas are vulnerable to extinction because of habitat loss and persecution by farmers and poachers.

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting...
Waiting on the world to change
[ John Mayer ]
Keep me awake, and perhaps we will find a place where we belong.
All that we know is left in the world that we haven't explored.
'Cause we don't wanna leave our sheets,
and grow old like we should.
Wondering where it will lead,
whilst feeling misunderstood.
So wake up, and realise how lucky you are.
And breathe another breath and feel us
Walk with you as you walk alone.
Oh, but never mind
never mind
I met a thief, and it stole every part of me, and never left.
And every time, it decides, to arrive, I let in.
And I know what's it's like when your home,
is not a place where you can go.
So wake up, and realise how lucky you are.

Another sneaky shot while roleplaying...the quality suffered a bit, BUT I love it anyway :D
I've posted two other Carrion plants in 2021. This was the lasgest of the six (two species) that opened that you. I misunderstood the term "carrion plant." I must have been thinking of Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors." The Stapelia hirsuta doesn't eat flies or meat: it attracts flies by smelling like rotten meat or, in another description, putrid fish. Well, that certainly increases my appetite for dinner.
I don't know why I thought of it as I would the Venus Fly Trap or Sundew plants that do "eat" insects that dare get inside the plant and touch one of three triggers (fly trap) that makes the trap close.
The Stapelia hirsuta, starfish flower or carrion plant, "is an evergreen perennial succulent plant native to the Cape region of South Africa in the family Apocynaceae, genus Stapelia. The stem has no leaves or spines and is quadrangular, resembling a cactus, but it is not a cactus. From May to October, it produces balloon-shaped buds like Balloon flower (scientific name: Platycodon grandiflorus) and Cotton , scientific name: Gossypium that break open to produce hairy, human-shaped, reddish-purple flowers. The flowers have the smell of rotting dead flesh. The flowers have a foul odor of dead flesh and attract flies to pollinate them."
What I did witness with this flower was - other than opening it's four "leaves" - was attracting flies. Then, as nature has its way, the Western Fence Lizards would come close to the flower and pick off the flies one by one. It was fascinating.
After searching daily for a week, I then waited six weeks for these to open. I didn't know what to expect. Closed, they just look like a "bulb." Open, they are unusually beautful and unique flowers. For the more beautiful Obea variegatta, see below. Hard to believe they're related.
The most disappointing this about these flowers is that, after waiting so long for them to bloom, the open in a matter of hours, and die in two to three days. The same was true for both species in the Garden, but I've heard that people keep Obea indoors and they may last for some days (weeks?).
a day that makes me smile...

MISS SL ♛ Romania says, "My styling of today is inspired by Cyndi Lauper. I chose Cyndi Lauper because to me she stands out from all of the other fashion iconic women, with her unique style for : fashion, hair and make-up. The styling is fun, playful, messy, and often very colorful. The picture I have chosen for this challenge shows Cyndi’s style perfectly. In the 1980's Cyndi Lauper was all about being misunderstood and yet she knew exactly who she was. Aside from her distinctive dyed hair, she enjoyed accessorizing it with many different necklaces, brooches, and a lot of bracelets. She also often went for mis-matched clothing, as well as being a big fan of fishnet. Cyndi’s style was a perfect unique mess."

I think male lions are really misunderstood.
It seems that most people think all they do is sleep, eat and be angry and for the most part they are right.
It seems the male lion brain is wired that way because he has to be the protector and defender of his territory .
Most people don't see is male lions can also be incredibly sensitive and often get blamed for doing something the lioness has initiated.
Often times i have seen Milo minding his own busines and Misty interfering to the point she gets a slap from him but the reaction is, he's grumpy or angry and yes he is but it's because his woman pissed him off.
Or there were times when they were all still a pride that the cubs pushed his buttons to the point he exploded with rage.
Thinking about all those situations Milo was never the one who was at fault but he was the one who always got the blame.
full of romance, in Tuscany, of course.. :)

The overhead storm clouds cast their shadows
washing away the pride in me
pride comes before a fall
I learned that at my father's knee
or was it that I just misremembered
perhaps it was pride comes before a fool
it matters less in this definitive moment
it may always remain a mystery
I listen hard for signs of rain
I imagine the coolness on my skin
I thought I heard a rumble of thunder
is it true that rain will wash away our sins
for surely we have taken a wrong turning
this blessed heat without humidity
the dew drops sparkle in the sunlight
a mirage mirroring my humility
rosé rosée like pink champagne
smooth like cultured pearls it seems
like the many facets of a zillion diamonds
have been erased in many sultry dreams
wish that I could stay in this moment
give up the fight for any more
be contented; savour and relish
these small things that should be adored
but in my reverie I am safe
and the waters I paddle are extremely shallow
but that's not me, I must take the plunge
swim out of my depth; the wickless tallow
melts in the hot relentless sun
emerging now beneath it's shroud
the ether smells so strong of ozone
by the sea as dissolving clouds
dissipate and my anticipation
disappears like urban myths
that once seemed honest, true and permanent
but now appear rarified as Scotch mist
I play the music it fills the air
the ivory keys invisibly stained with blood
the ebony hardened like the wounded stare
of civilisations misunderstood
when will we learn to be as one
is it so hard to find harmony
the rhythm of Mendelssohn's fragmented vision
resounds in my ears and soothing me
I pick up the notes with nimble fingers
disperse them into the universe
hoping that someone, somewhere will hear them
and heal our planet, not make it worse
transferring thoughts like transference of scores
of tiny notes that alone have only partial impact
I begin to play a different theme tune to my life
love changes everything; to me that is a fact.

The final images in my series was a pleasure to be in their presence. These beautiful animals deserve all the respect in the world and too often are severely misunderstood.
Not always the biggest fish are the best memories. It can be the hardest fighting fish, or a fish from a very difficult water, or a fish of pure beauty, in a beautiful setting.
This Mirror carp was not caught from a difficult lake, but I loved it's linear like scale pattern.
In Britain all our carp go back. You should always use a carp sling, and carp unhooking mat. For some reason, the lad who took this photo for me, thought I would not want a carp mat in my picture. I think this is why I remember this capture, even more. He had misunderstood what a carp mat was for.
In the eighties I used a pike unhooking mat, made by Nash, because it was bigger. Though some anglers found unhooking mats unusual in them days. So maybe that's why the lad moved it before taking the photograph.
I started kneeling on the edge of the mat in future photos, making it hard to remove during photos at this water.
Thankfully unhooking mats have become the norn now in the UK, and in many parts of Europe now. We use large tarpaulins for the Wels Catfish.
The carp mats I have now are huge, but back in the day we use to even make them out of old armchair seat cushions. Put carp sack over one, and you had a carp mat.
This fish fought like a salmon in the water, but on the bank the carp stayed calm all through the few photos taken of it. This fish went on to grow much bigger.

The "Royal Burying Ground" at Sutton Hoo as seen from the viewing tower at the end of a very hot & dry summer,
It was here that the belief of Edith Pretty and the archaeological skills and experience of Basil Brown led to the discovery of the burial site of an Anglo-Saxon king, most likely Raedwald who ruled East Anglia in the early 7th century.
But he wasn't simply buried in a grave or a chamber, he was buried in a ship 27m/89ft long containing many treasures which had been dragged there from the River Deben more than 400 m down the hill, some task!
As Basil and a team of archaeologists dug deeper, they unearthed fine feasting vessels, deluxe hanging bowls, silverware from distant Byzantium, luxurious textiles, gold dress accessories set with Sri Lankan garnets and the iconic helmet with human mask.
The discovery (just as the Second World War was breaking out in 1939) rewrote our understanding of a time that we had previously misunderstood. Post-Roman Britain was considered to have entered the 'Dark Ages', where civilisation in all aspects of life declined. Sutton Hoo proved otherwise.
Lots of great info and pics at www.britishmuseum.org/collection/death-and-memory/anglo-s... from where some of the above has been plagiarised!
If you look closely, focussing on the horseshoe shape about 1/3 in from the left, you can make out two metal 'structures' marking the bow and the stern - one at the top of the horseshoe and the other below, halfway between bottom of the horseshoe and the path).

Isn't it great?
The future just keeps on coming
The corners of light
You can't see where you're running
Put on the light
And turn the night back into day
Put on the light
For what is gone and what remains
The great and the good
The restless of hearts and lonely
Misunderstood
The twisted, the mad, the Holy
Put on the light
And turn the night back into day
Put on the light
For what is gone and what remains
These days are gold
Hung out and strung with laughter
To have and to hold
And you can't see what your after
Put on the light
And turn the night back into day
Put on the light
For what is gone and what remains
These days are mine
Just one smile taking up all my time
White lines, road signs
Just one smile taking up all my time

The word “God” originated early in the history of our language and goes back to the Indo-European root gheu, with the meaning of “calling.” God was originally understood to mean “the called-upon,” but perhaps also “that which is calling us.” In any case, the notion of calling suggests the reciprocity of an I/You relationship. At the same time, however, the original gender of the word was neither male nor female, but neuter, thus avoiding the danger of projecting too human an image on God…
…God means the ultimate Mystery under the aspect of our I/You relationship with it. The term “God” is not a name,* but we might call it a code word that refers to the nameless, incomprehensible power that cannot be conceptualized, and to which our human awareness stands in its deepest personal relationship. But in the course of history, this personal relationship has often been emphasized much more than the fact that “God” refers to the incomprehensible mystery. When this happens, the word is easily misunderstood as the name of a supreme deity, of whom we cannot help speaking in mythical images. Rilke says of this process, “Our image-fashioning hands obscure you, whenever our hearts behold you unveiled.”

During the colonial era in Africa, occupied by European nations, there were two Somalias. One located in what is known as the "Horn of Africa" and belonging to Italy, the so-called Italian Somalia. To the north of it, France colonized a small territory known as French Somalia, which when it gained independence from France was renamed Yibuti in French or Djibouti in Arabic. It is a little-known country, despite the great beauty and diversity of its landscapes. Plenty of desert, volcanic landscapes, slightly mountainous areas, landscapes of ancient volcanic lava flows mixed with arid or desert areas, extinct volcanoes, lakes like Lake Assal, the saltiest lake in the world, located 155 meters below sea level. Or an enormous variety of marine landscapes, mixed with volcanic landscapes and white sand beaches. Being such a small country, the variety of landscapes is immense; it's like a tiny representation of the entire planet concentrated in a small place. In the south of the country lies the Grand Bara Desert, a mixture of desert and extremely arid areas. The Grand Bara Desert was formed from the remains of dry lakebeds that were once lakes, and is now completely arid plains in central and southern Djibouti. In the south of the Grand Bara Desert lies the Goba'ad region and the Grand Bara Depression. The Goba'ad is a plain with narrow "wadi," the Arabic term used to refer to dry channels or ephemeral rivers that only have water during the two or three months of intense rainfall, typical of desert areas. In the south of the Grand Bara Desert, this occurs from late June to September... after which... the rain stops. Rainfall is scarce in Djibouti, and the interior of the country is very hot and dry, so most of the territory is desert or semi-desert. The Goba'ad is located between the Hanle Plain and Lake Abbe, the saltiest lake in the world. The Goba'ad plain and the arid depression of the Grand Bara separate the volcanic zone in this region from the arid zone. The volcanic part of the landscape is formed by extinct lava flows that flowed through these areas from the now-extinct northern volcanoes in past millennia. This clearly defines and clearly distinguishes both the arid and volcanic zones. During the rainy season, water flows across the divide between the two separate zones, or else it follows the path formed by the extinct volcanic lava flows, eroding them and transforming them into an increasingly smooth surface. In contrast, in the arid zone, the clay that makes up this area is poorly drained and sometimes water accumulates during the rainy season, giving rise to the ephemeral growth of some scattered grass or bushes... and very little else... rather little... little...

Nujabes was a Japanese musician and DJ, well-known in his country but somewhat less so abroad due to his short discography and his untimely death. His name was Jun Seba, a first and last name he combined, written in reverse order in Japanese, to create his own anagram: Nujabes. His music had a touch of melancholy and nostalgia. What I value most about him is his enormous ability and creativity to blend musical genres as distant as hip hop and jazz. I also liked the "character" Nujabes, especially his reflections on creativity and love. One of Nujabes's best-known songs is titled "Aruarian." This word has no translation into any language, nor is it officially recognized by the linguistic institutions that regulate the different languages of each country. However, it is included in so-called "urban dictionaries." The word was coined and invented by Nujabes in relation to his reflections on love. The word has a meaning that goes far beyond what is conventionally known as "love." The meaning of "Aruarian" is that of a very deep, almost instinctive connection with another person. A "cavernous love" that one feels for someone without any reason, logic, or motive. Once, reading an interview with Nujabes in a Japanese music magazine, I was surprised to read what he felt when he walked through Shibuya, a well-known area of Tokyo that is always crowded with people, bustling with activity, and fast metropolitan highways. He explained that when he walked through Shibuya, he felt like he was walking through a desert where there was nothing and no one. I suppose everyone who lives in large metropolises has experienced this feeling at some point: feeling surrounded by so many people and yet feeling so alone and misunderstood in life. From today on, these hundreds of square kilometers of the Grand Bara Desert will be called the Little Nujabes Desert. I don't think any Djiboutian would be bothered by a symbolic change of name for this small patch of desert, where there is nothing and no one. So Nujabes can continue wandering alone through these desert places in search of a "cavernous" and profound love, and sleep and rest forever. I'm not going to ask Google Maps to include this name on its satellite map... It's enough for me that it's called this way, in a unique and symbolic way for me... the "Little Nujabes Desert." In 2010, right in the Shibuya area of Tokyo, on one of its fast-moving metropolitan highways, Nujabes had a very serious traffic accident, dying at the age of 36... losing his life, his search for Aruarian, his walks through the Shibuya desert... and forever losing an entire life yet to be lived.

Tiny beauty overlooked among the grass. Daisy Fleabane blooms are less than an inch in diameter. I was on my way to the back door when my eye barely caught sight of the tiny creation, waiting to be discovered. I backtracked and took a second look...
This tiny flower is also edible and misunderstood. Can make a beautiful edition to any garden.
