I am already missing the lovely colors of Fall. This was taken the same day of the "50 mm" challenge that I mentioned a few days ago.

Our special boy is missing. GT does go outside but generally he sticks pretty close to home. He has not been see since Friday morning. He was wearing a (breakaway) collar with a tag and he is microchipped. We have put ads online, posted flyers and have checked our local pound, but so far nothing.
The other troublesome thing is that our neighbor's cat Scratch has been missing since Thursday.
I can't even begin to express how heartbroken we are. :-(
"He was last seen on Thursday, January 27th wandering the streets of Toronto.
He is black and white and is wearing a backpack and boots.
If you have seen him, or have any information as to his whereabouts please contact: help@whereislepos.com"

PENANG’S LATEST HERITAGE HOTEL ENJOYS BRISK BUSINESS
Manager feels very much at home but missing mom’s cooking back home

The latest hotel to open within Penang’s Unesco World Heritage Site, the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel, is fast gaining popularity amongst both local and foreign tourists since it opened for business in November.
Hotel Manager Hafez Yahya noted that while the steady demand was to be expected due to the current year-end school holidays but it is the hotel’s strategic location within the heritage site that gives the hotel a cutting edge.
“Business has been good and continues to improve since we opened for business on 12 November. Not many were aware of the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel initially but word soon spread around especially based on good reviews from guests. We are looking forward to even brisker business as we close the year and welcome the New Year 2014,” said the manager who hails from Sabah.
The Armenian Street Heritage Hotel is just steps away from the heritage trails of museums, temples, eateries and the world famous hand-painted murals including the "Little Children on a Bicycle" by renowned artist Ernest Zacharevic. Various tourism events and activities such as the annual Penang Festival (Pesta Pulau Pinang) as well as the Armenian Street Got Talent, an event promoting traditional culture and art, have also helped bringing in guests, noted Hafez.
“Our guests have mentioned that it was great to have a reasonably-priced hotel right in the World Heritage Site. But the most gratifying, inspiring comments are when guests express how pleased, satisfied and enjoyable it was staying with us, and that they would recommend us to their friends and family,” added Hafez.
The privately-owned Armenian Street Heritage Hotel is managed by Tune Hotels, the international value hotel brand. However it is exclusively known as a premium heritage hotel.
Hafez, who hails from Kota Kinabalu, regards his appointment as the manager of the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel as a new challenge with bigger responsibilities, and a recognition for his past services.
“I have to start afresh with a new team in a new environment here in Penang. It is a real challenge that I relish and look forward to. As they say ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’, so I believe given time the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel will be another success story,” he said.
Despite having to move from the easternmost part of the country to its western end, life hasn’t changed much for Hafez. As a new kid on the block in the hospitality industry in Penang, there were a lot of new people for him to meet and network with. He basically had to start from scratch but was fast getting a hang of things in and around George Town.
“What I like most about Penang? Well, while most people say it is the food which I don’t disagree, it is the old world charm that fascinates me the most. The old trades and ways of doing things still exist till this day despite Penang’s rapid modern growth. Working within the Unesco World Heritage Enclave, I am privileged to be able to see time, in a way, stand still,” shared Hafez.
Born and bred in Kota Kinabalu, Hafez said he missed mom’s cooking the most, aside from his 4x4 Land Cruiser back home. “And of course the company of family and loved ones. But I’m not complaining as we all understand that this is the career of my choice and having to move to Penang is just part of it. Having said that, Penang and Kota Kinabalu these days are just a direct flight away.”
Offering guests an experience of the old world charm hospitality, the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel features a viewing deck on the top floor, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery of almost the entire heritage area right up to the coast line of the island.
The hotel also serves as an extension of the George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI) office, which is located right opposite the hotel. It is also host to the largest model of the heritage area which is managed by GTWHI.
Located at 139, Lebuh Carnarvon, the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel offers 92 rooms of various sizes that cater to solo travellers, couples and families. Fitted out in heritage style, the hotel offers modern amenities to suit the needs and requirements of tourists and visitors to Penang especially those wanting to explore the heritage zone.

Sometimes limitations are all in your mind. Missing Links visualizes 16 musicians who, despite missing fingers or hands, have overcome their disabilities and continue to make music.
This poster lists which bands the artists are members of (if any), what instruments they play, and how they lost their digits. Also included are two honorable mentions with paralyzed fingers.
I found this tacked on the bulletin board at work this morning. At first, I thought it was hilarious, that maybe a college kid posted it for a joke. Then a coworker told me that she talked with the person who had put it up -- a mother for her 3 yr. old son. He honestly believes A.J. has run away because of the s'mores incident. It is still funny (especially the photo caption), but in a heartbreaking way.
WAH this picture sucks basically becase of the lighting or lack thereof.

Brisbane was over 30 today and there isn't anything much more mundane than an electric fan. This one is 'On'', as you can see by the buttons. The blades are literally "missing in action."

Dental bridges provide an excellent replacement for #missing #teeth. They can function inside your mouth for more than a decade if you take good care of them. The primary function of a dental bridge is to fill the gap of missing teeth to aid chewing as well as prevent surrounding teeth from sliding in.
Now, you may wonder how long a dental bridge may last. Oral healthcare routines and diet plans vary across people with dental bridges, so it is hard to tell precisely about the longevity of a dental bridge.
The lifespan of dental bridges
There are different opinions regarding the lifespans of #dental #bridges. The Cleveland Clinic suggests that dental bridges may last five to seven years. A few types of these bridges may even last ten years. According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, you can enhance the life of a dental bridge beyond ten years by practicing good oral hygiene. Some people have been able to keep their dental bridges for a lifetime this way.
Why might a dental bridge fail?
Fitting a dental bridge usually involves etching of the tooth next to the missing tooth. Although this etching prepares that natural tooth for a supportive role for the dental bridge, it makes that tooth susceptible to several dental problems, including tooth decay, gum disease, and other dental #infections. Such issues may necessitate a root canal procedure. The failure of the supporting tooth can fail the dental bridge.
Preventing failure of dental bridges
Dental bridge failure mostly results from food choices. Eating hard foods can put a lot of pressure on dental bridges, making them more susceptible to fail eventually. According to the Cleveland Clinic, individuals with dental bridges should eat vegetables and fibrous foods to prevent any pressure on their dental bridges. Such foods also benefit dental health in general. Moreover, it will be a bad idea to eat sugary and starchy foods because they can result in the dislodging of any dental restoration. It means that you are going to have to snack less if you want your dental bridge to last for several years.
Caring for dental bridges
To care for your dental bridges, you will need to care for your dental health. It may include specialized care and professional dental cleaning regularly. Good dental and oral habits combined with proper care, both domestic and professional, can increase the lifespan of your dental bridge by several years.
At home, you will need to make sure that you are using the right toothpaste and toothbrush to clean your teeth. You may want to use fluoride-rich toothpaste to keep your tooth enamel hard and well-mineralized.
Flossing is as crucial as brushing your teeth. Flossing is a difficult chore for many people, but once you adapt to a flossing routine, it will become second nature. Alternatively, you can choose a product that would clean your interdental spaces. For instance, using a water flosser is convenient and enjoyable. It doesn’t only dislodge food debris, plaque, and bacteria, but it also washes them away.
You may want to discuss with your Collegeville dentist the best oral hygiene routine that focuses on your dental bridges.

GST day at Flitton Moor removing Himalayan Balsam 18/7/2017 TL0536
Subject: Next Tuesday's Task
Hi All,
I hope you’ve all stopped itching from the nettle stings on Tuesday!
Next Week’s task will be balsam pulling downstream from Flitton Moor and will be led by Andrew (his last day). The site is accessible from Flitton Moor, so meet at the barn at Flitton Moor at 10am (map attached).
The good news is that there are nowhere near as many nettles as at Sandy Smith but there is plenty of balsam and it’s along steep-sided river/ditch banks and the only way to deal with it will be to get in! Fortunately, the water doesn’t look too deep!
Andrew will bring waders to the task but it might be a good idea if everyone could bring wellies – there might be some areas where wellies might be better than cumbersome waders.
There will also be some brush-cutting.
Regards,
Tim
Hello balsam pullers
A thank you from us to whoever removed the doggy doo doo bag on our behalf. We lost track of it when the bags were moved downstream and then forgot to look for it as we left. It wasn't there when Baz went back for it this evening so we must presume a kindly soul disposed of it on our behalf.
The list of emails above is a bit thin - people certainly on task but we don't have emails for them all, e.g. Barbara & Derek. Please forward to anyone you see is missing from our list.
See you soon
Jane & Baz (irresponsible dog minders)
Hi Jane & Baz & fellow Voles
Lola's bag was there when I came back to get my water/tea.
Anyway what a day, even though the gang finished earlier than usual it was just as well. It was boiling hot and very sticky. You were all a bit smelly too but you were magnificent in victory. I shall not forget Jim's giant leap and wrestle with several big stands of HB across a ditch filled mainly with un-fathomed amounts of ooze covered by a layer of Equisetum (Horsetail) or hearing about Jim's vanishing into another pool where they had to call the RNLI to drag him ashore. Or the happy look on Merv's face relating the joy of submerging into the same primordiall ooze or Dave & others who gallantly waded from Flitton Bridge toend of the track. Then there was Maryla, determined to get her full wack of HB in the 1&1/2 hours available to he, roped on a very steep bank grabbing each plant with a wicked glee, take that you naughty naughty HB you. Well you get my drift, the Voles were down and dirty but unbowed.
A bit of the atmosphere in my snaps at www.flickr.com/photos/pitzys_pyx/
Sadly we had to say farewell to Andrew who has moved on to pastures drier than Flitton Moor.
Take care & see you next week?

A buddy of mine saw my new-car pictures and asked me to shoot some of his new car. (Like we didn’t see that coming.) He’s an early riser like me so he showed up early enough for the good part of sunrise. He didn’t realize how I like to work a subject but after about 20 times of turning various lights on and off he was getting a clue. I don’t know if he was bored or feeling guilty but he was trying to get me to quit, right when the light got great. “Look, you’re missing your sunrise.” I assured him I was not.

(I miss you miss you)
Hello there the angel from my nightmare
The shadow in backround of the morgue
The unsespecting victim of darkness in the valley
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want
Where you can always find me
And we'll have Halloween on Christmas
And in the night we'll wish this never ends
We'll wish this never end
Where are you and I'm so sorry
I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight
I need somebody and always
This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime
And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders
catching things and eating their insides
Like indecision to call you
And hear your voice of treason
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight
stop this pain tonight
Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head(6x)
I miss you miss you(6x)
One of the park rangers was searching the lake for a missing gentleman. He asked what I was taking the pictures for, and I said he was the most beautiful thing I'd seen all day. I got a smile out of it.
