ci si sente così quando dentro qualcosa manca...

I can hardly believe the variety of spiders I've been finding. This is an orb weaver that spins a web with a missing sector.
According to bugguide "Zygiella webs usually have the viscid spiral threads missing from a definite sector between two radii in the upper part of the web, and in this open area a strong signal line extends from the hub to the spider's retreat." bugguide.net/node/view/6774
Id corrections appreciated.
Found by the bike trail in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
My #39 spider for this year.
The 3200-series and the new 5000-series are the two operational series of cars not represented (although car 3031, whose former mate is now permanently attached to a 3200-series car, is seen to the left).
This could be the last picture of Svanspervot. Taken last saturday. He came home and sat on the veranda for a while, had some water, and then he went for a walk. There was something wrong with him, but we don't know what. Maybe a fever and/or a viral disease. Been out looking for him, but we can't find him. He has been gone for up to a week before so I'm still hoping that he will be back, but in reality I' dont think he will. He was a tough guy, always in trouble, fighting and trying to get in on with the ladies. He will be missed.
Luxor had a lot of stuff that still looked good and some with a fair amount of original paint left on it. It was also missing a lot; I liked how on some of those pieces they would put them together then just line draw what was missing.
Pencil and charcoal. Although we SEE and make technology part of our lives we cannot forget our HUMAN
part.
Trout has the sweetest face EVER!!!! I know she's loving her new daddy!!!!! And sister of course.
I have just one photo left of her to share now. Sigh! An era ending.
this is not the sight you want when you walk in a room. Joshie found out that he could pick the keys off the home laptop with his fingernail. This is actually after about half the keys were already replaced. There are still three keys that are permanently broken. Picture, including interesting angle and DOF compliments of Lucas. Good job!

Day 126 - May 6, 2010
Got home past midnight today and after a quick meal dozed off hoping a power nap would get me all energized for some extra work. But the opposite happened, my body sucked me into slumber with only the nagging need to take/post a photo fighting the battle to wake up.
I eventually did get up past three in the morning and saw this random screen saver with tiles from various album covers from my iTunes library. For me it represents the movies, tv shows, podcasts, books, games and other forms of relaxing activities I've set aside basically because I don't have time for them right now.
In two weeks maybe, after this whole coverage is over I can get back to the grind. I miss all of you as well, I occassionally see your photos on Fluidr and just want to visit all your streams, I miss it terribly, but I really need to prioritize right now. Hope you are all doing well.
Cheers!
Exploring abandoned properties (in this case a multi-level old barn) presents photographic opportunities.
My ex-boyfriend just found out that his current girlfriend has been sleeping with his best friend. After his best friend attempted to justify this by saying he wasn't his "best friend," merely his "oldest" friend (as if this can be justified, let alone in such a way as this), my ex broke up with the girl and has since decided to buy a staple gun and post these all over his town. My advice was to refrain... maybe lengthen the Will's Pub bender portion of the getting-over-it period and be better off for it in the long run. Let the liver deal with it. My boyfriend's advice was to use the best friend's phone number rather than his own. So complicated. And SO Jerry Springer....
Later, I received an email, "Yeah, I knew you'd be against it. That's why I went ahead and did it and then told you about it." Ouch.
Sort of reminds me of the lost pet posters the low men hung around town to find Ted Brautigan in Hearts in Atlantis.
The most ironic part of all of this was that this poster idea was concocted during a screenplay brainstorming session for one of my ex's projects by the girl herself as something the protagonist could do in the story. Sort of poetic in an odd way. Life imitates art.
P.S. He did use the best friend's phone number. Great minds, eh?
Normally there is a great view of Golden Ears mountain from this spot. However, this morning all I see is fog over the river.

Love don't come so easily
This doesn't have to end in tragedy
I have you and you have me
We're one and a million why can't you see
I'm waitin', waitin' for nothing
You're leavin', leavin' me hanging
When did your heart go missing?
When did your heart go missing?
I treat you alike a princess
But your life is justa one big mess
When did your heart go missing?
When did your heart go missing?
Its nearly 2 years since the passing of fellow Flickrite Charles Dawson.
In January 2019 the passing of Charles Dawson was announced by his family on his Twitter feed.
Twitter account:
Charles Dawson's photostream:

I was stumped. I regarded myself as a friend to Charles, even though we never met in person. We'd shared photos, and conversed on Flickrmail. He still pops into my head everytime I see LEGO or an Eddie Stobart truck.
Sounds like Charles had a good send off.

I succeeded in getting Charles' account to a "In Memoriam" status. Note the 'In Memoriam: Charles Dawson' title on his photostream. Many thanks to Flickr for allowing this feature. This means Charles' photos will remain here indefinitely - a fitting tribute.
I'm not sure what Charles would have made of the times we are living in, I hope he would take it with a sense of hope, and of course engage in photography and LEGO.
We miss you Charles.

This is my spare car key. I'm looking, looking for my ring of keys.
I work in a library and at the beginning of December I saw this poster on our notice board. After Christmas I nearly removed the poster, but decided to keep it up a little longer.
In mid January I returned home from work one day and heard a cat crying at the neighbour's house which surprised me as they have a fierce dog.
Soon the cat was found in my garden and when I asked the neighbours to fetch their cat it transpired that it was a stray which they were just ignoring in the hopes that it would go away- or perhaps starve itself to death as they weren't feeding it. On seeing the cat- I remembered the advert for Harry the missing cat. I managed to feed the cat and my husband caught him- a quick phone call to the advertisers had them arriving in five minutes. They looked at the cat and pronounced him the missing Harry- a good six weeks after he had gone missing!! They lived at least a kilometer away from us and it is a mystery as to how Harry found his way to us unscathed. Why did he choose us- I was the only person who had seen the poster??
A tearful reunion followed. They told me that Harry was a wonderful, affectionate cat and that they had an autistic son who had a special bond with Harry.
They had had a most miserable Christmas.
They carried Harry home - I would have loved to have seen the reunion of the little boy and his friend Harry the cat- but suffice it to say- I got a lovely present and a wonderful card saying that the little boy walks round the garden with Harry in his arms, talking to him all the time- and the card has a drawing of Harry from the little boy.
So for once in this world of tragedies one little- or not so little- thing went well and I fell blessed to have been part of that.
My little silver mascot, lost somewhere in vicinity of Clear Lake on a 400k brevet some years ago. I got him at the Plaine de Plainpalais flea market in Geneva in 2009.
