We really can't complain about our recent weather but low cloud and drizzly make a dull beach this day.
Wearing the appropriate livery, The Ghan liveried NRs, NR109 & NR75, are just over two hours into their 2979km journey from Adelaide to Darwin as they are seen here north of Snowtown with Great Southern Rails The Ghan service 1AD8. Sunday, 18th February 2018.

you can't realize the originality of this french graffiti on
the rusty, old slurry tank car, dedicated to the poor and
needy ! Especially the arabesque writing style of the S
and the teardrop. I guess it was written with a stone ?
So here is it in detail ... 02 / 16
GB Railfreight Class 92, 92 014, hauls the heavily delayed 1M11 Caledonian Sleeper Lowlander service south through a grey and miserable Acton Bridge. The service was running 111 Late at this point, due to sister locomotive 92 020 failing at Edinburgh prior to taking the 1C11 portion from there.
92014 was hauling the new Mk5 stock and unusually had ended up running behind the Highlander.
Miserable weather today. 3C and very gray skies. A bit foggy. And it did of course start to rain while I was out on the bike. And some of the roads were very icy. The idea for this photo was very different compared with the actual result. It was meant to be a big panoramic view over the field on this side of the railway track. The field is currently a not very busy building site, but I figured it would be nice with a before photo. But as it happened, I did not turn off the autofocus, so it was impossible to stitch the photos together.
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

...thanks to a parent that sent her child to class, knowing full well he woke with a fever that morning. There should be some kind of test before people are allowed to procreate! ("I gave him medicine and he seemed fine, but i felt guilty and decided to pick him up early." she told us.) Gee, thanks!! What a sport...
A small craft returns from an unsuccessful fishing expedition on a wet day earlier this year. It is just entering the entrance to the Scarborough (Redcliffe, Qld) Marina come boat harbour.
This is my daughter. She puts up with so much. Poor baby - Mommy is always taking a million pictures of her.
During this session she was telling me about how the boys in her class are so mean to the girls. Her expression is priceless.
See it started at the park
Used to chill after dark
Oh when you took my heart
That's when we fell apart
Cause we both thought
That love lasts forever
They say we're too young
To get ourselves sprung
Oh we didn't care
We made it very clear
And they also said
That we couldn't last together
The storm last week really made these little ponies miserable. There was mud all over their stable. Felt sorry for them when I passed over to Morgan Territory. I was in a hurry when I took this shot. Didn't realize I previously had set my camera to ISO 6400!! I 'm amazed how little noise there is while the details are still there.

When I took this photo a man came by and asked if I knew that this swan was alone? I said no. He continued; The wife (he said wife) was killed for some time ago, he said.
- I looked him in the eyes to trace any reason to make fun. There were none. He said; She was beaten to the death by some kids with sticks.
He shrugged and turned around, said; you just witnessed a miserable story..
