I love the scent of wild mint underfoot. This plant was right at home in the moist area next to the Battle River.

A small stream runs by Dunkeswell Abbey, it is lined with water mint. On the mint were many mating pairs of these striking little beetles.

A recipe I tore out of the Times magazine while we were waiting in the services for the AA to pick us up last month. I've never made a pastry pie before (obviously this was using ready rolled pastry, making it myself would have been a bit excessive) and it was a little hairy at times, but seemed to work out okay. The lamb, mint, carrot, pea & lentil filling was delicious (lentils were my addition as we were a bit low on lamb). With hindsight, I could have found better things to do for 10 mins than cut out letters for the top, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Will definitely do this again, may experiment with individual sized pies, or even invest in a proper pie dish as I'm not sure using pampered chef stoneware was the right thing to do.

make some mint tea to help aid the process. I love that brilliant green.

It has escaped the confines of it's original pot and is now growing in the garden beds. I don't really mind as I use a lot of it in salads.

The taste of mint is quite mild. Just suitable for me. I can have a try next time. Coffee from TCC.
