Endemic to Europe, North-Africa, and Middle-East.
Typically grows along creeks and on river shores, in floodplain areas. Its leaves have oil glands with essential oils, but all parts of the plant have a mint scent.
Used in herbal medicine.

My mother, wife and I went for a drive to Minter Gardens, located near Vancouver, BC. An enjoyable time was had by all.

Found this gorgeous mint bush at a fire trail in Blackheath. I am not sure exactly what it is, but my best guess, based on the leaves and the location, is Prostanthera incana. Any I.D. corrections very welcome! [Upper Blue Mountains, NSW]
