The Meeting was attended by delegations from all D-8 member countries, namely, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey.

“I wouldn’t see it as a bad contract”, Charles Kaphwiyo, Director of Malawi’s Department of Mines, said of the controversial 2006 agreement between his government and Paladin Africa, “but there are areas for improvement.” Several NGOs, media outlets and even civil servants have criticised the government for failing to broker a better deal for Malawians with Kayelekera mine. “There are some things that we as government didn’t know that we accepted in the contract. But now we are learning.” Here he proudly shows us a 2011 map depicting all of the concessions out on Malawi’s resources – all to foreign-owned companies.

Weekly mining op for ice. In the picture the operation is just starting up. Two basilisks are in the background of picture 2 tanking the remaining rat in the ice-field. For security reasons the defence-force is not present in the pictures. Pictures 3 and 4 are an hour later - seconds before a mysterious raven warps into the belt flashing red. Panicked about a threat to my precious Orca I warp off to a safespot in short order, with the others laughing hard in the fleet chat when the raven fails to break the two basilisk's tank boost on their hulks. The raven shuffled off probably embarrassed.

These covers and backs to Desert Magazine ran for 4 issues (8 paintings) from June, 1960 thru September 1960. They did offer reproductions of each set of two for $2.85 postpaid on 14"x17" stock plus a 2" margin all the way round, with no lettering or folds. Sounded like a great deal to me. I'd love to find someone who has these for sale, but no luck so far.

this subsidiary has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a proposed Joint Venture with Janayen Capital Group.
Janayen is a global development management company specialising in guest worker accommodation. Janayen's expertise in property, project and facility management services is evidenced by its highly experienced team of personnel, most of whom have been in their respective fields for over 20 years.
Janayen offers in-house services in potential property locating, facility concept design, feasibility studies, financing, consulting engagement, and property due diligence. Janayen also works in conjunction with sub-contractors in areas such as market research, detailed construction design, construction works, authorities applications and approvals, and marketing.
Astra Mining state this Joint Venture between Janayen and Astra will merge their respective expertise in the development and management of workers' accommodation facilities to establish an entity which will be the master developer to, and manager of Projects involving developments suitable for the purpose of building, leasing and managing workers' accommodation facilities on a commercial basis to house mining workers in Queensland, Australia.
The proposed Joint Venture will involve the establishment of a joint venture development company (the "Dev Co") by Janayen and Astra to undertake the relevant Projects. Both Astra and Janayen shall be responsible in securing debt/bond finance on behalf of Dev Co for the construction costs associated with the development of the Projects, and their respective equity interests are to be shared on a 50 percent each basis.
It is the intention of Astra and Janayen to have their respective equity interests in the proposed Joint Venture listed through the Janayen Property Trust on the Singapore Exchange within the forthcoming 24 months.
