The First Meeting of D-8 Working Group on Mining and Minerals (WGMM) was held in Bali, Indonesia, on 11-12 December 2008. The Meeting was attended by delegations from all D-8 member countries, namely, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey.
A collection of screenshots from the plasma project in Second Life. The place and all art will be deleted on Dec 01, 2008, it is too expensive to pay the Linden Labs' fees to keep it open for public. Its a shame, so many great non-commercial places like this are dying in the moment. They attract users, they are the content. Without such content Second Life is an empty bubble.

Photos of an old mining town in Silver City, Idaho. Some call it a ghost town but it is hardle uninhabited. Many still live there and are very much "alive" today.

We hiked in about two miles on this mining access road. This is a nice example of a false summit: Placer Peak is actually behind that peak.

Day 6. Barrier Highway. Just west of Broken Hill.
If you come into Broken Hill from the west along the Barrier Highway, you will see this huge structure on the Northern side of the road. Next to it is a huge Welcome to Broken Hill sign with a stack of places of interest and accommodation places. I got there at the best time of day, sunset.
