Protest rally called by Mining Dependents at Kranti Circle, KTC Panaji on 19.3.18. Supreme Court stopped all mining activities effective 16.3.18 after cancelling all mining permits. Protestors blocked traffic from both bridges and other entry points to the city. As a last resort, protestors were Lathi charged around 3pm. Temple closed locked Video youtu.be/CzaV1Hyr8Us

Photographed at the Battery Hill Mine Museum. Tennant Creek has a rich history as a gold mining centre. Here was found one of the richest gold bearing seams ever mined in the world. Very remotely located in central Australian desert country, life was harsh for the people who lived here.
Badser helps his father wash the gold. Badser, like some of the other children on the mining site, go to school in the nearby town of Buylsan (an hour’s drive away). They board at school for the week and return to the site, to help the rest of the family, at the weekend. This routine is common with nomadic families as the only roads are dirt track and with mines changing location, the school can be up to 3 hours away from the mine site
Some Tanzanite mine plots are quite undeveloped with almost nothing on them
So many men live a brutal life, mining in the hope that one day, they'll hit the big strike and be able to build a home and start a small farm or just get out of the industry. Tanzanite mining ages these men so very quickly.

The mining in Alwar is creating havoc to the environment and the asthetics of aravalis... Something has to be done to stop this.
