Millennium Falcon series - 7th sculpture

Death Star hangar.

You might have recognized this scene from StarWars IV - A new hope.

For that build I had to create a bigger micro Falcon to fit with the hangar scale.

You can visit my gallery to see the 6 first creations of the series.

"Com-scan has detected an energy field protecting an area of the sixth planet of the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment."

―General Maximilian Veers

The DSS-02 shield generator was a military-grade deflector shield generator manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards. Due to its high cost, it was mainly used by the Galactic Empire, though the Alliance to Restore the Republic managed to obtain one to protect its headquarters on the gelid planet Hoth.

The DSS-02 shield generator could project an 80 kilometer-wide impenetrable deflector shield around itself, which was enough to cover the entirety of Echo Base.

Searching through the old (or discarded) images, I found this one. I don't usually make humorous pictures, but I love General Ackbar's explanation on the blackboard.

How many AT-AT walkers attacked Hoth?

According to the official novelization (by Donald Glut), there were at least 12.

Through the blizzard, the small dots seemed to be advancing at a slow yet steady pace, churning up clouds of snow as they moved toward the Rebel base.

The officer raised his electrobinoculars and focused on the approaching objects. There must have been a dozen of them resolutely advancing through the snow, looking like creatures out of some uncharted past. But they were machines, each of them stalking like enormous ungulates on four jointed legs.

"He can't possibly know how to fly one safely."

"Well, safety ain't the point of a joyride, Threepio."

―C-3PO and Han Solo, after Paploo steals a speeder bike

Speeder bikes, also known as hover bikes, were open-air repulsorlift vehicles, usually carrying one or two passengers. Speeder bikes emphasized speed and maneuverability over conventional speeders and were popular with thrill-seeking teenagers and military scouts.

A typical speeder bike had a maximum altitude of 10 meters (32 feet) and could thus maneuver deftly over very rough terrain. Some companies manufactured extras like sidecars for speeder bikes.

Couldn't resist this Up/Star Wars mashup. And yes, that is the canopy from the original, Kenner Millenium Falcon.

Thanks for looking and have a great day

"Part of the daily routine is to recognize the exteriors of the Echo Base, especially near the power generators."

"Their primary target will be the power generators."

―General Carlist Rieekan, during the Battle of Hoth

Power generators were used throughout the galaxy to supply large amounts of power to cities, bases, factories, starfighters, and planetary weapons. Smaller power generators existed which were able to provide continuous power for portable heavy weapons, vehicles, structures, and machinery.

Both the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion used power generators at their bases to keep their communications arrays, base shields, turbolaser towers, and mining facilities functioning at peak levels. They were also used by numerous other factions such as the Zann Consortium and the Hutt Cartel.

"Captain visits a Hoth trench, and takes a look at the conditions in the trenches before the Battle"

Echo Base was the settlement established by the Rebel Alliance on the frigid planet of Hoth in the wake of the Battle of Yavin, so named due to its strange acoustics.

Less than a month after its establishment, the base was discovered by the Galactic Empire who then invaded Hoth, forcing the Rebels to evacuate.

"What did you do?"

―Din Djarin and IG-11

IG-11, also known as Eyegee-Eleven or simply as IG or Eyegee, was a masculine-programmed IG-series assassin droid who was a bounty hunter during the New Republic Era. IG-11 was programmed to follow protocols of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, and had a built-in self-destruct mechanism to prevent himself from being captured while working as a hired gun.

Around 9 ABY, IG-11 took on a bounty that involved killing Grogu, a Force-sensitive infant that was held in a encampment on the desert world Arvala-7. During the assignment, the droid teamed up with the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, and the two worked together to eliminate the Nikto mercenaries in the encampment and confront Grogu. Upon seeing the infant, IG-11 was destroyed by Djarin while the droid attempted to kill him.

The Ugnaught Kuiil later retrieved the droid's body from the encampment and repaired and re-programmed him in order to assist the retired vapor farmer. Now tasked with protecting Grogu, he accompanied Djarin and his allies to the planet Nevarro after meeting them in Kuiil's moisture farm. Following the death of his new master, he assisted them after they were pinned down by Imperial forces and helped them escape. IG-11 later sacrificed himself via self-destruction in order to kill a platoon of stormtroopers to prevent Grogu from being captured. After his sacrifice, a statue of the droid was erected in Nevarro's city.

A build for my series of Star Wars 32x32 builds. Based on the official 7778 Midi-scale Millenium Falcon that I'm quite fond of. As you can see some pars are missing. It would be nice to replace them and give the model an update.

“Show me again the power of the darkness, and I’ll let nothing stand in our way.”

– Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens

It’s been called the quick and easy path to harnessing the power of the Force. Stemming from anger, fear, aggression, and negativity. But to those who command it, the dark side of the Force is pure, unrestrained, unlimited power. Read on to begin your tutelage in a… larger view of the Force

The planet of Hoth looked like a pale blue orb due to its dense snow and ice covering. Five planets existed between Hoth and its sun, while an asteroid belt surrounded the planet with meteors occasionally striking the surface. Most of its surface was covered with glaciers and frozen ice plains. Another third of the planet was covered by oceans.

The temperature, although always frigid, was known to drop to -60°C come nightfall. Although devoid of intelligent life, Hoth was home to fifteen species of large gray snow lizards called tauntauns and to a species of towering predators known as wampas.

The planet also had a number of "crystalline geysers."

My entry for the TBB Falcon contest.

I have already built the X-wing, Y-wing, Slave I, Luke's speeder, AT-ST and Tie Fighter som this was the obvious follow-up build. When I saw this contest I decided it was finally time to get going ;)

Inspired by the amazing UCS steampunk falcon built by Markus a few years back. I unfortunately didn't have time (or the pieces at the moment) to go for that scale so this will have to suffice for now.

The K79-S80 Imperial Troop Transport (ITT), also known as the RTT or Recon transport, was a boxy repulsorlift ground assault vehicle used by the Galactic Empire. Developed by Ubrikkian Industries, it was used to either move Imperial stormtroopers in, or to move prisoners out. Despite not being designed for combat, the Imperial Troop Transport was fitted with two forward laser guns, and one dorsal twin laser turret.

Tauntauns (pronounced /ˈtɔːn-tɔːn/) were a species of non-sentient reptomammals native to the snowy plains of Hoth. They were used by members of the Rebel Alliance after they domesticated some of them when they built their new headquarters on Hoth. Jabba Desilijic Tiure kept a stuffed tauntaun head in his palace beside Han Solo, who was at the time frozen in carbonite.

Ion Cannon Bunker

The Ion Cannon Bunker is a raised structure in the centre of a snow filled field. At the side there is a crashed Gunship, and trenches which provides great cover for attackers.

There are two sets of stairs which act as entrances and exits, but the windows can be climbed through.

The command post can also be taken from the roof making it very hard to defend. By heading to the large opening you will be lead to the Ion Cannon Hangar, and by entering the small corridor you will find the Control Room.
