However, he changed his mind after a consultation at the ILO-supported provincial migration resource centre, fearing that he might fall into the trap of human trafficking becase the recruitment agency required his passport to be kept by the employer.

Avignon was Greek Emporium around 539 BC. Much later it became a Roman colony, named "Colonia Julia Hadriana Avenniensis". During the migration period the Goths looted the town and in 472 Avignon was sacked by the Burgundians.
In 500 Clovis I, King of the Franks besieged Avignon as his arch-enemy Gondebaud had taken refuge here. Clovis devastated the fields, cut down the vines and olive trees, and destroyed the orchards.
In 734 it fell into the hands of the Saracens and was destroyed in 737 by Charles Martel´s Franks. Avignon recovered and in 916 King of Provence Louis the Blind restored the churches of Saint-Ruf and Saint-Géniès to the diocese of Avignon. At the end of the 9th century, Avignon suffered again by Muslim attacks.
After the division of Charlemagne´s empire, Avignon was owned jointly by the Count of Provence and the Count of Toulouse. In 1135 the rights were resigned to the local Bishops and Consuls.
At the end of the 12th century, Avignon declared itself an independent republic. When in 1226, the citizens refused to open the gates to King Louis VIII of France, the French besieged the Avignon and after it was captured forced it to pull down its ramparts .
In 1271, Philip III of France inherited Avignon and passed it to his son Philip the Fair in 1285. It passed in turn in 1290 to Charles II of Naples.
The University of Avignon was founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303 and was famed as a seat of legal studies, flourishing until the French Revolution.
In 1309 the city was chosen by Pope Clement V as his residence at the time of the Council of Vienne. Avignon, rather than Rome was the seat of the Papacy. It became the Pontifical residence under Pope Clement V in 1309. His successor, John XXII made it the capital of Christianity and transformed the former episcopal palace into the primary Palace of the Popes.
Under the Papal rule, the Court seethed and attracted many painters, sculptors and musicians. The Gothic palace was the result of the joint work of the best French architects. The papal library in Avignon was the largest in Europe in the 14th century with 2,000 volumes.
Gregory XI decided to return to Rome. His death caused the Great Schism. Clement VII and Benedict XIII reigned again in Avignon. Overall it was nine popes who succeeded in the papal palace.
Avignon was a papal possession up to the French Revolution.

The construction of the strongly fortified Palais, that is one of the largest medieval structures in Europe, began in 1252. The Palais was built in two phases with two distinct segments, known as the "Palais Vieux" and "Palais Neuf". By the time of its completion, it occupied an area of 11,000 m².
The Palais Vieux was constructed by Pierre Poisson of Mirepoix at the instruction of Pope Benedict XII. Benedict had the original episcopal palace razed and replaced with a much larger building centred on a cloister, heavily fortified against attackers. Under Popes Clement VI, Innocent VI and Urban V, the building was expanded to form what is now known as the Palais Neuf.
The visitors all got a little tablet. They find useful and detailed pieces of information on the screen.

In celebration of International Migrants Day 2013, the Saphan Siang campaign and UNITE Thailand hosted multiple activities on 18 December 2013 at Thammasat University (Tha Prachan Campus), Bangkok, Thailand.
Thai university and high school students participated in workshops on migration and development, and social inclusion and exclusion in Thailand, presented by experts from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Thammasat University.
The workshop was followed by a debate by Thai high school and university students on the motion 'Thailand offers sufficient protection measures for migrant workers.' The day also marked the launch of the Saphan Siang Youth Ambassador programme, a programme that matches selected Thai students with civil society organizations across Thailand to work on projects to a promote positive image of migrant workers.

A Truly Marvelous Migration of the Monarch Butterflies
It takes two to three generations of butterflies to migrate north from Mexico through the U.S. up to Canada. Over time, the monarchs have developed a ‘Super Generation’ to make the longest leg of the journey South. This ‘Super Generation’ is bigger and lives eight to 10 times longer than subsequent generations. These super butterflies travel as far as Canada to Mexico. Unlike other generations, they do not mate during the journey.
They stay in Mexico over the winter to rest and after several months make the first part of their journey back to the U.S. and Canada. By the time they get to Texas, they lay eggs and die, thus starting this amazing cycle again.
Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Director and Chief Executive, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), presents an overview of migration and mobility between EU and India.
The Dialogue held on 26 September 2017, was attended by more than a hundred people including, representatives from various ministries, embassies, academics, researchers, employers and workers representatives, civil society organizations.
The meeting continued the implementation of the India-EU Common Agenda on Migration and Mobility (CAMM) signed last year, and comes ahead of the upcoming India-EU Summit to be held in Delhi in October 2017. The CAMM addresses four pillars: better organized regular migration and the fostering of well-managed mobility; prevention of irregular migration and trafficking in human beings; maximizing the development impact of migration and mobility; and promotion of international protection.
Stencil graffiti in the tunnel beneath Princeton Junction station. I've always thought it was strangely beautiful. Last time I was there, though, it had been painted out...
Every fall, a magical event takes place in the animal world. Perhaps traveling over your own head right now--or clustered by the hundreds in a nearby tree--the annual monarch butterfly migration to Mexico is underway. By instinct alone, the butterflies go to the same mountains that their ancestors left the previous spring. Somehow, they find a place in Mexico that they've never seen before.
The butterflies are born knowing everything they need to survive, so we look on with wonder:
* How do the monarchs know when to go to Mexico?
* How do they know which way to fly?
* How fast, how far, and how high do they travel?
* And how do they know when they have arrived--at a small speck on the planet where none has ever been before?

Furry Migration 2017 is a furry convention held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from August 25-27, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis
March butterflies are one of the few species of butterflies that migrate. In September and October monarchs in central and eastern U.S. make their way south to overwinter in the Gulf States and remote mountain valleys of south central Mexico, traveling up to 2,000 miles. They spend the winter massed on trees in the Gulf States and Mexico. One wintering site may attract millions of butterflies. In March the monarchs begin to return North.

"Migrations"
One of the world's incredible wonder when birds migrate in the thousands literally over thousands of miles from their winter home to their summer breeding grounds.
The Delaware and New Jersey shorelines hosts these migrating shorebirds by serving them Horseshoe Crab Caviar on their beaches.
Amazing, the Horseshoe crab is like the Shark where their original life form is the same as when it was created. Woe is the crab that gets turned over as he is unable to flip himself back upright on his own.
I saved over 100 crabs today by flipping them over and heading them in the direction of the water.
