Just making coffee time and found this Sparrowhawk had made a kill of a Starling. Only way of getting a picture without reflections in the glass was to go to a bedroom and slowly open the window hence the angle.
Both of them were hunting in the marsh near W. Dyke trail, fighting in between. Out of many pictures this is the only one I could post.
Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.

We've had some lovely calm and sunny mid winter days in Melbourne this week. Very cold (by our standards) but we can't complain ...

A bright but misty start with some of the mist lasting until mid morning, especially along the canal. So nice to have a couple of sunny days in which to take the camera out. The leaves are beginning to turn as well
This is the first bridge photo I worked to get in 2011. The Walkway Over The Hudson had just opened. It provided excellent views and perspectives. It is really interesting to walk so high above the Hudson. I will post a few interesting shots from the Walkway bridge. After several attempts to get an interesting shot of the Mid-Hudson, I decided to try from a different viewpoint. This shot is from a park on the Highland side of the Mid-Hudson.

I composed this photograph while walking through a residential area in Palm Desert, California. It is, I believe, an example of Mid-century Modern architecture, quite common in this area.
Mid-century modern was originally considered a collection of homes built after World War II, rather than a specific style. However, "mid-century modern" now often denotes a particular building or decorating style, characterized by clean lines, minimal decoration, and a connection with nature. It features a wide, low house footprint with large, open spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an emphasis on bringing the outdoors in.
