An interesting look at everyday things.

I bought a cheap USB powered Microscope and then started exploring. Some of the images were very unexpected so I thought I would post a few.

Les Actinopodes sont des organismes unicellulaires qui forment un embranchement d’organismes aquatiques à symétrie généralement sphérique. Une bonne part d’entre eux possède des squelettes externes calcaires ou siliceux, hérissés de fins pseudopodes (filopodes et axopodes) rayonnants. Leur diamètre est de 40 à 200 microns. Ce sont de prédateurs capables de capturer le plancton grâce à des substances adhésives présentes sur leurs axopodes.

These tiny little baccili (rods) are Gram negative (note the pink staining) and are baccili and diplobaccili. They are also E. coli, but we don't have to identify the species in class.
