I found out I could put the camera up to the eyepiece of the microscope at school and take halfway decent pictures.
Stegobium sp. I took this photo to highlight what mischeif is caused by museum pests. The photo was taken on a NikKon coolpix mouted onto a microscope with LED illumination

I've never seen such a hot orange exhibited in rocks before. I discussed these with my lab TA and we decided they could be basalt, the iron content having oxidized during weathering. If only I had the tools, I could break open these microscopic grains of sand and know the truth!

Held the camera up to the eyepiece, showing that if you can physically couple a point and shoot camera to the eyepiece that you can capture images.
