I think I may have the technique in hand for shooting with the Cannon EOS 1dMkII through our scope (a Celestron dissecting scope). All my previous shots were with a 10D and I have been having a terrible time getting the 1dMkII to work for this. Now I just need to get several more extension rings, some black PVC tubing to adapt as a mount to the scope eyepieces and I will be set!

Cheap photo microscope setup. Swift SW150 with a section of pipe insulation on the eyepiece tube. Sony a6000 mirrorless camera with non communicating canon eos adapter connected to a EOS to T2 telescope adapter (I already had this). Take the eyepiece out and slide the telescope adapter over the pipe insulation. Add a couple of LED light sources either side of the stage and a remote shutter control for the camera and your good to go. With focus peaking on the camera it's easy to spot focus slices for stack photographs.
