Michael Schumacher's first F1 cars.... retired after just 300 meters....

Because of the unavailability of one of the team's drivers, Eddie Jordan was looking for a short-notice replacement for the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa Francorchamps. Thanks to the help of Norbert Haug, the most talented driver from Mercedes' Junior Team got the chance of his life : to start in an F1 car. Schumacher impressed : finishing 7th in qualifying. Although he moved up to 3rd after 300 meters, clutch problems forced him to retire.

This occurrence marks the unusual starting point to the most successful career in F1 motor sport.

This Iveco Domino Orlandi-bodied motor coach was custom built for Scuderia Ferrari's Formula 1 operations in 2001 and remained in service with them until the end of the 2005 season. This was a period during which Ferrari dominated Formula 1, its lead driver Michael Schumacher securing the last four of his seven World Championships (2001-2004).

Iveco is an Italian manufacturer based in Turin and therefor the obvious choice of transportation for what is, in effect, Italy's national motor racing team. Some 12 metres in length, this Domino Orlandi HDH model rides on air suspension and is powered by a 380 hp engine, which drives via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

Ferrari's Iveco motor coach was specifically designed for strategic meetings and interviews between the drivers – Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello – and other team personnel. In its original configuration, the vehicle featured two separate apartments with independent access, each of which was equipped with an LCD television, computer table, satellite telephone, internet connection, enclosed shelving, and wardrobes. In addition, each had its own physiotherapy table for post-race treatment.

The Iveco's next owner commissioned a full conversion into the ultimate luxury motor home. This involved making numerous improvements to the specification, which now includes upgraded electrical and mechanical components, a complete bathroom with ceramic lavatory, independent heating and air-conditioning systems, onboard 220-volt diesel generator, a Bose home theatre system, and a Hastens Luxuria double bed.

The current owner purchased the vehicle in 2009 ; maintained regardless of cost, it has covered fewer than 90.000 km from new and is described by the vendor as in overall very good condition. Finished in Rosso Corsa with beige leather upholstery, it still displays its distinctive 'Scuderia Ferrari' branding and is surely the ultimate in accommodation for the globetrotting motor sports enthusiast. Accompanying documentation consists of a UK V5C Registration Certificate, sundry expired MoT certificates, various invoices relating to the motor home conversion, and a Ferrari Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Team Principal, Stefano Domenicali. An intimate and unique piece of Ferrari's Formula 1 history dating from a period when the 'Prancing Horse' enjoyed almost unprecedented success.

Michael Schumacher marked the 20th anniversary of his first F1 start with a special gold helmet.

The drivers were taken around on a truck, and they waved to the grandstands before the race. You can see some of the chain-link fence; this was the only one which didn't block the drivers.

Pictured is a 2008 Honda RA108 Grand Prix Car. The car is painted in 2011 Mercedes-Benz livery which featured on the MGP W02.

It was driven in Honda colours by 2009 World Champion Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. The actual 2011 Mercedes car was driven by seven-times World Champion Michael Schumacher and 2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg.

This is the last Honda Formula 1 car to be raced, Honda Racing being purchased by team principal Ross Brawn at the start of 2009 and being re-christened Brawn GP. After winning the world championship in 2009, Brawn was itself bought out by Mercedes-Benz, bringing the German marque back to Formula 1 as a constructor for the first time since 1955.

This car never got close to winning a race, it's highest position being third with Rubens Barrichello in a British Grand Prix held in atrocious conditions. That result aside, the car only scored minor points on three other occasions. Barrichello and Button would end the season fourteenth and eighteenth in the Drivers Championship respectively. Honda would end their last season as ninth best constructor.

The actual 2011 Mercedes-Benz MGP W02 placed Mercedes fourth in the Constructors Championship, the best result of 2011 being Schumacher's strong drive to fourth in Canada. The drivers finished the championship in 7th (Rosberg) and 8th (Schumacher) positions overall.

One of the real stars in a cameo role in Disney Pixar's original animated feature - 'Cars' is Michael Schumacher - a Ferrari F430 Berlinetta.

To quote Disney/Pixar: "With over 90 wins and seven championship titles to his name, Formula One racer Michael Schumacher is one of the most celebrated racecars ever. Born into humble origins, he grew up on the local short track his father maintained, and developed the skills he would need to become one of the most accomplished athletes in the world. Making his way up the ranks of the European road racing leagues, he went on to achieve a racing career so successful that his record will most likely never be surpassed. But when it comes down to it, there's nothing Michael loves more than spending time with his loving family."

Near the end of the film, Michael shows up at Luigi's Casa Della Tires at the recommendation of Lightning McQueen. He is accompanied by a pair of Maseratis who are named Costanzo Della Corsa and Antonio Veloce Eccellente.
