This will be my final posting of photographs from Miami Beach for the time being. My mother has passed on, my childhood home has been sold to a wonderful young family, and it's time for me to "cross the great water," whatever the I Ching means by that. I appreciate all the thoughtful comments on my previous posting, but I really won't be returning to this fantastical but also cruel place which I visited so often only because my mother lived there. I learned to make the best of the times I spent there, found good people and beautiful birds and butterflies and flowers. We should strive to make the best life we can wherever we are, to love our neighbors, take care of our friends, help those in need, and forgive the people who hurt us. I am so grateful to my parents and grandparents who taught me how to be a good person and to live a good life, and I will strive to learn and grow, strengthen my character, and honor their teachings and their memory.
