The image is a bit of a fib: the empty scene at Miami Beach is explained by the bitingly cold weather and the leaden grey skies. So I cheated with the editing, enhancing the light and warmth factors, as well as the colour saturation.

We're headed back to Canada tomorrow, and I hear it's gonna be cold there for the next few days. Oh, well. We've had a great visit with my mom, stuffed ourselves with lots of good food, gone for lots of walks, and seen lots of birds and flowers. The Bass Museum of Art is an art museum located in Miami Beach, Florida in the United States. The museum specializes in exhibitions of contemporary art. The Bass Museum was founded in 1963 by the City of Miami Beach with a private donation of close to 500 works of Renaissance and Baroque art by collectors John and Johanna Bass. The museum occupies the 1930s Miami Beach Public Library and Art Center designed by Russell Pancoast, grandson of MIami Beach pioneer John Collins. The building was placed on the National Register in 1978.

In 2002, the museum more than doubled its size with an addition designed by iconic architect Arata Isozaki. The Museum is in the leadership of Silvia Karman Cubiñá, Executive Director and Chief Curator since 2008.
