Diagonal seamed quilt back - the John Flynn Method

This image is made up from 30 individual photographs that i stitched together using photoshop. My intention was to achieve a wide angle view of the scene whilst keeping a very shallow depth of field.

here I am using an empty ballpoint pen to score the plastic. Pressing hard on a softish surface will bend the edge up, which makes it easier to slip paper underneath.

For a full description read my blog post on making a slip holder.

Using methods of public intervention and video installation, Daniel Canogar's Storming Times Square is born from a desire to have viewers project themselves, literally and metaphorically, onto their immediate environments.

The video display content will be the result of a public participation performance. In the first phase of the project, local Times Square community, distinguished New Yorkers and neighborhood pedestrians crawl over a green-screen surface while being captured by an over-head video camera, which will be turned into a dynamic video animation for September’s Midnight Moment.

This Mah Jongg solitaire is designed by me. The method of playing and scoring is different from the ordinary one.

1. Player must either remove a pair of tiles, or one complete set of 4 tiles from the pool. For one pair removed, player scores 1 points whereas for 1 set of tile (4 pieces of the same kind), he/she scores 10 points.

2. He/she would continue untill all tiles are totally removed and he/she would score another 100 points for completing the game.

3.

If a player could remove any two sets of the four winds, he would score 100 points.

If he/she could remove any three sets of the four winds, he would score 1,000 points.

If he/she could remove all the four sets of winds, he would score the Grand Jacpot - 10,000 points and is considered 'game'.

4.

If a player could remove any two sets of the 3 dragons, he would score 300 points.

If he/she could remove all three sets of dragons, he would score the Mini Jackpot- 3,000 points is considered 'game'.

5.

If a player could remove all the two sets of flowers, he would score the Micro Jackpot - 900 points.

Bronte, TX (Coke County)

Fort Chadbourne was a fort established by the United States Army on October 28, 1852, in what is now Coke County, Texas, to protect the western frontier and the Butterfield Overland Mail route. It was named after Lt. T.L. Chadbourne, who was killed in the Battle of Resaca de la Palma. It was defended by Companies A and K of the 8th U.S. Infantry. During the early days of the American Civil War, the fort surrendered to the Confederates on February 28, 1861, even before the Confederate shelling of Fort Sumter, South Carolina, but was reoccupied by federal troops from 1865 to 1867. (1)

Fort Chadbourne began restoration in 2001 with the Enlisted Men’s Barracks (east). An original grant from the Dodge Jones Foundation made this possible. A decision was made to stabilize and reconstruct the original walls using an old method of braces and turnbuckles. By holding the walls in place, where they could no longer fall, the walls could be repositioned and straightened preserving what the 1850 soldiers and stone masons had built. The idea worked, and Richards was awarded the 2003 Preservation Texas Award.

The west barracks was stabilized, but left in a ruin state for comparison. (2)

With this set of 6 pics Eric Lon proposes to stretch the back muscles which are connecting the head and the toes. This is inspired by a French Yoga therapy technique : “ Mézières ”.

Respect the body alignment, and breathe evenly, with longer exhalations.

Diagonal seamed quilt back - the John Flynn Method

Retrato a mi amigo José Roberto utilizando Brenizer Method

You will need a mango, and a knife.

Mangoes are ridiculously expensive in the US, this one cost me like $2.50!

----

Although in US grocery stores you will generally find these mangoes, there *are* other kinds. The trick in the following pictures only works on these mangoes!

Other kinds, specially the "hilacha" (fiber) ones, will turn to mush if you try to cut them. The way to eat those is to bite into the skin a little and pull the skin (it comes off easily), then bite into the mango. You can also make a hole near the tip of the mango and squish it with your hands -> instant mango juice.

You can recognize the hilacha mangoes because they turn completely yellow when ripe, not yellow/green/red like this one.

My wife Ruma and her younger sister Alya. Continue experimenting with the Brenizer method
