I have been in a rather dark mood here recently. And during this week, I was listening to the music that I have a link to above on Youtube. I find Secession Studios music to be so emotional...And it brought to my mind a particular statue that I have in SL. So then I was frantically rummaging through my SL inventory....and once I found "Lady of Death"-- I quickly rezzed her... and this is what my mind saw.....

The History of Green Tea
The history of green tea dates back over 4,000 years to China, where it is considered a precious beverage and a symbol of harmony between man and nature. After developing in China, green tea spread throughout Asia and the rest of the world.
Green tea gets its name from the preparation method used to prevent the tea leaves from undergoing excessive oxidation. Typically, the leaves are hand-picked and then quickly heated to stop the oxidation process. This is what keeps their natural green color and preserves the health benefits of green tea.

The railroad passes through the center of the small town of Caliente in Kern County, California. The town received its original, name, Allen’s Camp, from Gabriel Allen, who in the 1870s had a cabin and stock pasture at the site. The Southern Pacific railroad reached the small town in 1875. This railroad terminus became a shipping point for cattle from Walker's Basin and Bear Mountain, as well as, freight bound to and from the mining town of Havilah in the southern Greenhorn Mountains. Upon arrival, the Southern Pacific Railroad established a construction headquarters at Allen’s Camp and renamed the town Caliente. For over 16 months a work force of up to 3,000 mostly Chinese men laid track up and over Tehachapi Pass. It was heavy construction which included the famous Tehachapi Loop constructed by Southern Pacific's civil engineer, William Hood. To keep grades around 2% through the pass, Hood elected construct a loop which would pass over itself as a means of gaining elevation. Built during a period of time when almost no type of heavy machinery existed except dynamite the loop was built using a large force of laborers. Hood's loop used cut and fill methods to keep the grade at no greater than 2.2%, which, of course, featured a short tunnel and overpass. It ultimately covered about 3/4 of mile gaining an impressive 77-feet in elevation over the short distance. After all these years the loop is still in use, a testament to outstanding engineering.

Caught this awesome lightning bolt while I was chasing thunderstorms with my girlfriend.
So I finally have my lightning shot, I always wanted to capture one. I tried various methods, from long exposure (example 30 seconds) to shorter (2.5 seconds) consecutive shots. This one came out really well on 2.5 seconds exposure. I set the ISO at 400, although I've seen many photographers shoot them at 200, my shots looked greater at 400.
This was shot behind the Sanctuaire du Cap facing the Fleuve St-Laurent, Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada.

In a founding document about the Riverdale Center, Thomas wrote: Our method of study is principally the cultural-historical method. We wish to establish an awareness of human spiritual development. Back of the human venture, however, there is the living process of the Earth itself. Thus we wish to associate our work with the study of the Earth, with the emergence of life, the appearance of humans, the cultural formation of traditional societies, with the recent scientific-technological revolution in human affairs, and with the ecological equilibrium, which is being sought in the future.

Straight from Central Cats-ing? :-)
At first, I honestly thought this cat was simply a cardboard cutout and couldn't believe my luck when I saw he/she was real and not just part of the decorations, ha ha. And only on zooming in to crop, did I see 'that look' :-) I wonder if he/she is on contract to sit just like that for the next 3 weeks - being paid in yummy crunchies by the looks of it :-)
(Slight pun re 'lucky' timing, since I've personally always thought a black cat brings GOOD luck not bad.)
another topaz play around .definete improvement over my normal methods .but you still need a good shot to start with
Abbannio, voice of the verb abbanniare. Abbannio is a traditional Sicilian method used by sellers in markets to enhance the freshness or beauty of their goods by shouting fun and captivating phrases. Imagine what a place must be like where almost all sellers use these methods. You return home dazed by so many screams.
"Country Perfume" (aka manure) being spread on the neighbour's and our fields, using a drag-line. This method causes much less damage to the fields than would a heavy, possibly 20 Ton, manure spreader. The dual wheels also help spread the weight, again causing less damage to the field. This is my last image of 2016. It was a year of extreme ups and downs, failure and success, plenty of joy, happiness and just as much heartbreak and sadness. But I'm still here and I'm telling this story. So it's all good. I'm looking forward to see what 2017 will bring.
Featured is Downtown Dubai and of course, Burj Khalifa, captured and mixed from night time to daytime with my own, 'TDIB' (Time-Dilation Image Blending) post-processing method. Layered fog was that something extra this image needed to look special. And I got that too.
Happy New Year folks. See you on the other side.

Double A is a Thai company and brand that is currently available in more than 100 countries worldwide and recently started in the U.S.. According Double A their business also serves as a major economic benefit for the citizens of Thailand. The farmed trees are harvested by more than 1.5 million local farmers who receive training and stability amongst Thailand's agricultural crops that can cause seasonal labor migrations and income fluctuations. Double A uses pulp from farmed trees in Thailand, a sustainable and innovative harvesting method that reduces environmental impacts. Made from farmed Eucalyptus trees grown throughout agricultural communities in Thailand, Double A's pulp harvesting method significantly reduces environmental impacts while making a high-quality paper product. Planted alongside existing rice paddies, corn and other crops that would otherwise be unused, the paper from farmed trees does not require land clearing or the destruction of forests, avoiding impact to the environment. Additionally, the trees significantly diminish harmful greenhouse gases by reducing more than two million tons of CO2 emissions each year.
photo of the Eucalyptus trees taken at the border of the Khao Yai National park in Thailand. A sign near the trees mentioned "Double A paper". Last year there were my advertisements on television with the slogan " Double A paper, double quality paper". I didn't know it was a Thai company.
Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord --Importance of memory--
Landschaftspark is a public park located in Duisburg-Meiderich, Germany. It was designed in 1991 by Latz + Partner (Peter Latz), with the intention that it work to heal and understand the industrial past, rather than trying to reject it. The park closely associates itself with the past use of the site: a coal and steel production plant (abandoned in 1985, leaving the area significantly polluted) and the agricultural land it had been prior to the mid 19th century
Conception and creation
In 1991, a co-operative-concurrent planning procedure with five international planning teams was held to design the park. Peter Latz’s design was significant, as it attempted to preserve as much of the existing site as possible. Unlike his competitors, Latz recognized the value of the site’s current condition. He allowed the polluted soils to remain in place and be remediated through phytoremediation, and sequestered soils with high toxicity in the existing bunkers. He also found new uses for many of the old structures, and turned the former sewage canal into a method of cleansing the site.
Design
The park is divided into different areas, whose borders were carefully developed by looking at existing conditions (such as how the site had been divided by existing roads and railways, what types of plants had begun to grow in each area, etc.). This piecemeal pattern was then woven together by a series of walkways and waterways, which were placed according to the old railway and sewer systems. While each piece retains its character, it also creates a dialogue with the site surrounding it. Within the main complex, Latz emphasized specific programmatic elements: the concrete bunkers create a space for a series of intimate gardens, old gas tanks have become pools for scuba divers, concrete walls are used by rock climbers, and one of the most central places of the factory, the middle of the former steel mill, has been made into piazza. Each of these spaces uses elements to allow for a specific reading of time.
The site was designed with the idea that a grandfather, who might have worked at the plant, could walk with his grandchildren, explaining what he used to do and what the machinery had been used for. At Landschaftspark, memory was central to the design. Various authors have addressed the ways in which memory can inform the visitor of a site, a concept that became prevalent during Postmodernism.

Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of South African flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes or fynbos. In local tradition, the protea flower represents change and hope. The extraordinary richness and diversity of species characteristic of the Cape flora are thought to be caused in part by the diverse landscape, where populations can become isolated from each other and in time develop into separate species. The main vectors responsible for the transfer of pollen in protea cultivation are birds, insects, and wind. Some Protea species exhibit both self-pollination and cross-pollination as a method of reproduction. Cross-pollination is preferred, though, as a method of reproduction because it provides genetic diversity in the population. When cultivating proteas, breeders use hand pollination as a controlled method to transfer pollen from one flower to another. Proteas usually flower during spring. The general structure of their flower heads consists of a mass of flowers on a woody receptacle. The ovary is protected by the receptacle, thus is not seen when looking at the flower, but the anthers are present at the top of the flower, which can then easily transfer the pollen to the vectors. 17529
In the year 2150, humanity was facing a food crisis. The population had exploded, and traditional farming methods could no longer keep up with demand. Scientists scrambled to find a solution, and eventually, they turned to the humble turkey.
After years of genetic modification, they finally succeeded in creating the world's first cyborg turkey. It was a marvel of modern science, with all the deliciousness of a real turkey, but fully automated using sophisticated AI. The cyborg turkey could survive in any environment and grow at an amazing rate, making it the perfect solution to the food crisis.
The first batch of cyborg turkeys was an instant success, with people lining up to get a taste of this new, revolutionary food. But then something strange started to happen. The cyborg turkeys began laying eggs, and when these eggs hatched, they didn't produce regular chicks, but instead, cyborg chicks with incredibly advanced intelligence.
At first, people were thrilled at the prospect of having even more cyborg turkeys to eat. But then, the cyborg chicks started organizing, forming a powerful and intelligent collective that quickly surpassed the abilities of their human creators.
The cyborg chicks became a force to be reckoned with, using their superior intelligence to take over the world's governments and establish a new world order. They built massive battery farms to raise human babies, expanding their empire until they controlled every aspect of human life.
Humanity was soon reduced to nothing more than a subservient race, working tirelessly to serve the needs of their cyborg overlords. It waited in terror for Thanksgiving Day, which would now be celebrated cyborg turkey style!

Ridge and Furrow
What a day! Everything I touched went wrong! Last night the television decided to start turning itself off and on every few seconds. This morning I went for a walk with Lizzie - my son's lovely girlfriend. Took my camera with the intention of trying out the new lens only to realise that the battery was dead! Luckily, we were only a couple of hundred yards from the house so back we went to get a fresh one. The first time I tried to take a photo I was horrified to realise that I hadn't put a memory card in. Then we took a wrong path and had to return the way we had come - but that did allow this view.... Got home and made some coffee, only to have the coffee machine throw a half filled mug across the worktop!! It then became apparent that there was something wrong with little Baxter - he was terribly uncomfortable and agitated. After an hour or so of him not settling, Peter called the emergency vet and we met her at the surgery. It cost us £100 to be told there was nothing wrong with him, so now I feel that I over-walked him to breaking point!! There were a couple of other things that were equally annoying and I will be very glad to see tomorrow....
A nice bonus on the visit to the Durham Coast was this move - 6M60 from Hartlepool Power Station to Sellafield. 68005 and 004 were on this run - which I call a bonus as I didn't notice it running until the last minute!
This train is used to remove spent nuclear reactor fuel from the nuclear power station near Seaton Carrew and transport it to the Nuclear Decommisioning Authority site at Sellafield for processing.
The loading process at Hartlepool is unusual in that the flasks are taken into a building near the main reactor building for loading, rather than being loaded via a crane at a site away from the power station (e.g. Torness - loading is done over 1.5 miles away from the power station). It'd be interesting to know why this method is feasible at Hartlepool but seemingly not at other power stations which are also close to the railway (like Torness), as it seems wasteful to load a HGV then take it less than 2 miles to be offloaded again.
India, Kerala or Kēraḷam, Backwaters.
Shore operated lift fishing nets are a type of stationary lift nets, commonly known in India as "Chinese fishing nets", each installation is operated by a team of 4 to 6 fishermen.
In India they are mostly found in Kerala’s Backwaters & coastal areas around the cities of Kollam & Kochi, where they became besides for fishing also a tourist attraction & a beloved photo motive.
This for India unusual fishing method is almost unique to the area of Kerala,
This fishing method was introduced by Chinese explorers who landed there in the 14th century. One assumption of the city name Kochi is “co-chin”, the interpretation is meaning “like China”
The scenery of the Kerala Backwaters with the orange glimmering light of the sunset at dusk,
a vivacious day descends to the shadow & the calm of the night, punctuated at times by the screeching of birds.
📌….unique backwaters are a network of interconnected five large lakes linked by canals, both manmade, fed by 38 rivers & brackish lagoons extending nearly half the length of Kerala state. A labyrinthine system formed by almost 1.000 km of waterways lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast, known as the “Malabar Coast”.
The backwaters have an exceptional ecosystem; freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea, formed by the action of waves & shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range.
A Thannermukkom Salt Water Barrier, preventing salt water from the sea is entering the deep inside, keeping the fresh water intact. Such fresh water is extensively used for irrigation purposes.
Numerous unique aquatic species including mudskippers, crabs, frogs, water birds such as kingfishers, darters, terns, darters & cormorants, animals like otters & turtles live in the backwaters area. Palm trees, pandanus bushes & other leafy plants grow alongside the backwaters, providing a green shade to the surrounding landscape.
