After trying the Wintercraft ice lantern kit, I changed how I inflated and positioned the other balloons that I use for making globe ice lanterns. Instead of putting them knot-end down, I'm placing them in the bowls (with large rubber stoppers in the centers to produce an unfrozen indentation in the ice lantern) with the knot end up, and blowing air into the balloon as it sits in the bowl, before tying it shut. This allows the balloon to be inflated just the right amount to fit inside the bowl.

This is a collection of two films on children's judo. The first film shows how to conduct a game session with a ball and at the same time carry out warm-up exercises, fight, learn a ground fighting technique, that is, carry out a full-fledged training session. Children age 5-7 years. The film shows 37 exercises with the ball. You will see general and special exercises. Fight with the ball, somersaults, exercises on the wrestling bridge. ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (Dec. 19, 2014) -- The U.S. Army is seeking to implement a new mortar manufacturing process to provide improved weapons at a lower cost, officials said.
The Army introduced a nickel super-alloy called Inconcel to produce mortars in 2008, but its properties make it challenging to manufacture. Researchers have been working on an alternative method to overcome the difficulties, said Chris Humiston, a mechanical engineer with the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center at Watervliet Arsenal, New York.

The Rhythm Method: Neil Peart (Rush), A Show of Hands
Anyone who has been to a Rush concert has experienced a Neil Peart drum solo. What that mad can do with the skins always leaves me blown away and in a state of awe and wonder. I often ask myself “how the hell does he even do that?”
I was on my way to Philmont Boy Scout camp in 1988 when my friend told me to listen to this song. I asked what band was playing with him and how many drummers were on stage, and he told me “just one, but that’s the best drummer in the world…” After that night I wanted to learn percussion. My friends were all drummers and they thought I wanted to learn so I could be “cool like them”, but it was because I was inspired by Neil Peart.
I taught myself to play percussion just like I taught myself every other instrument I play. After high school I played on the SWT (now Texas State) Drumline in San marcos where we kicked a lot of ass and took a lotta names… thanks for the inspiration Neil!

FUKINSEI (不均整) Imbalanced. Beauty in imperfection, asymmetry.
Wabi-Sabi (no not Wasabi!) states that beauty can only be achieved if there is a correlate amount of imperfection. Mirai is beautiful because she has imperfections which have been factored into the design not only on the 3D modeling level but also because I decided to use a traditional casting method called Slush Casting which by its nature introduces imperfections.
While all Mirai may look the same, each one is uniquely handcrafted and there will never be two that look *exactly* the same - just like humans.
Most folks who design faces in 3D would model one side of the face and then mirror it to the opposite side which in theory should look OK but in reality gives an unnatural alien look - this is because we are accustomed to looking at asymmetrical faces in daily life.
When 3D modeling the face for Mirai we made sure to introduce Fukinsei by molding her face to be asymmetrical.
The outer shell of Smart Doll is created using a combination of modern 3D printing technologies together with traditional molding and casting techniques which have been in use in Japan for over 60 years.
While computers give us refined control over the 3D part of the development process, the traditional part is manual and influenced by many aspects of nature on a micron level.
During the electro-molding process, the surface of the mold wall becomes slightly uneven which means the casted part will also become uneven.
Blemishes like small beauty marks, faint streaks or slight color differences may occur which are all caused by various natural conditions (air pressure, temperature, moisture etc) that affect the soft vinyl in its liquid stage just before or after casting.
Some blemishes may only visible under strong lighting (when viewing a few cm away from a fluorescent light) or when you start to scrutinize them but none of these blemishes are a result of poor quality control and are result of the effects of employing a traditional casting method that I have chosen to make Smart Doll.
If I feel that a blemish looks natural enough to not degrade the overall aesthetic looks of Smart Doll then I will approve them to be shipped - If I knowingly let out poor quality products then that would reflect on the brand and my future - it is not in my interest to let that happen.
Folks who prefer perfect super smooth surfaces all round should seek other machine molded products instead.

Cette église méthodiste fut érigée en 1890 à l’angle des rues Coursol et Canning. Elle fut lourdement endommagée par un incendie le jour de Noël 1915, mais fut par la suite rénovée et réouverture au culte.
À partir de 1955, l’édifice fut occupé par le Negro Community Center, un organisme communautaire qui vise l’intégration de la population noire dans le milieu montréalais. Il fut utilisé comme tel jusqu’en 1993, date à laquelle l’organisme dû quitter les lieux puisque l’édifice qui nécessitait de nombreuses et couteuses réparations était désormais considéré comme étant dangereux.
Le 13 avril 2014, un mur latéral de l’édifice s’est effondré, exposant ainsi les 3 étages de l’immeuble aux intempéries. Malgré la volonté de l’arrondissement de sauvegarder l’édifice, le propriétaire des lieux obtint l’autorisation d’un juge de le démolir.
La démolition est en cour depuis le 20 novembre 2014. Aucun projet de remplacement n’est actuellement connu.

Engrish
It must mean but the meaning is not important.
It does not matter much that it is incorrect.
Correctness is preferable but it is not read so a belief that it is meaningful is enough.
It should be as unpronouncable as possible (hence the use of l and r)
The impossibility of pronunciation is preferable.
It should mean visually.
If it were in Japanese it would be far too intrusive.
It should be meaningful to as many people as possible (other than the wearer!) or in an international language. English, and French are far preferable to Tamil.
It should mean on its own. It should have visual linguistic meaning, without a reader.
In that sense it is perhaps like the names of named places, so famed, that they are felt to exist out there without any detour (c.f. Derrida) through the mind of an interpretans (Pierce).
Like names of named places the best place to collect them is perhaps stamped upon ones person as Engrish T-shirts
Engrish and names are like the opposite of Jackson's Mary's red qualia. Engrish is external 'proof of the fact' that writing can have meaning without being read, as opposed to internal 'proof of the fact' that something can have meaning, can speak, just by being seen. Enrgish is almost identical to imprisioned Jackson's Mary's whispered "red." Both are crippled signs lacking in half their meaning, meaning but not quite meaning, and made replete by different means. Usually, the teas from the “wide-leaf” of tea trees or Camellia sinensis var. assamica planted in Yunnam province are known as Puerh tea. But according to processing method, Puerh can be classified as green tea and post-fermented tea. The famous Puerh tea is the post-femented and the quality depends on its ageing. Now Puerh teas are classified by age and region of production, much like wine vintages. The high quality Puerh tea should be over 20 years and the tea leaves should be wide and red.
Puerh is known as a compressed tea and also by ageing, it becomes a pleasant drink with colour similar to red wine. The tea leaves are compressed because this can reduce the volume, as the transport from Yunnam to other regions was hard at ancient time. During the transportation, the tea leaves continue to fermented.
Puerh can be classified into raw tea and ripen tea. Raw tea is the tea without processing and ageing. The tea leaves are wilted by sunlight. It is a kind of green tea. To change the raw tea into ripen tea, tea leaves are compressed and fermented. It takes quite a long time for the tea leaves to be mature. Nowadays there is a technique known as “wet piling” to shorten the time of ageing by placing the tea leaves in a warm humid environment under controlled conditions.
To brew Puerh tea, the water should at 95°C to 100°C, as high temperature can release the aroma from tea leaves. The quantity of tea leaves is about one-fifth full of teapot. Immerse the tea leaves in hot water for about 2 – 3 minutes, when the liquor colour turns dark red, pour the tea out of the teapot. Over immersion or bad quality of tea has a bitter taste but the tea of good quality with proper brewing has a characteristic sweet taste.
