This is logo of the CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is a clean, simple, well-balanced design and I think is a metaphor for broadcasting radio and television waves.
An example for the DS106 Design Blitz.
It snowed here in the Northeast the other night. Where I grew up, in the NW, it hardly ever snows. Sure, it rains like God forgot His promise not to flood the world again, but it hardly ever snows.
When I was driving, I realized just how unequipped, physically and emotionally, I am for driving in these conditions. For a lot of people who live in very wintery climates (like Canada and Wisconsin), it's easier. I'm completely inept. I started thinking about all the times that I get frustrated when people don't understand diabetes. They ask me stupid questions or make assumptions. "You have an insulin pump," they say, or "Why can't you just do the same thing and have it work?"
When you live far away, the snow looks pretty and soft and you might think, "Oh, I wish it snowed more here." But if you get into it and you're not prepared, you're in for a huge awakening. Those of us who are more familiar with this territory know how treacherous it can be. But we also know the safety precautions to stay alive.
This was a very long metaphor and I hope it makes sense. Let me know what you think.
This bed of irises was put together solely from found rock for the borders, and filled with compost from my bin. The irises are starting to fill it in well.
My time spent outside tending the flowers and trees yields valuable metaphors.

On Sunday, after a little hiccup in our plans, we made our way to #FoodStock the fundraising event to stop the Mega Quarry in Ontario.
The organisers estimate over 20,000 (some said over 28,000) came out ot show their support and coming together to say NO to destroying prime farmland, habitats & potable water.
It was cold. It was muddy. It was wet. It was far.
It was inspiring how many people came out, chefs, musicians, farmers and supporters alike to stand up and get this issue noticed!

....or a metaphor for the state of the nation. Drawn on an IPad with Apple Pencil and then simplified for screen print.
"I wanted to tell you a lot of things, a portion of nights, mornings or afternoons, or, no matter the color is the color, time is just a matter of color is not? So it doesn't matter, I wanted to tell you of those times I te left and then left alone, thinking also on the things that I wasn't going to tell you, because there are terrible things, I wondered if you were able to listen to, Yes, he needed to be available to hear them, available in relation to what? I don't know, don't stop me now that I'm almost getting, available only, is not a word beautiful? You know, I wondered how far you were what I saw in you or just what I wanted to see in you, I was wondering how far you wasn't just a projection of what I felt, and it was so, even when I could see you all these things that me fascinated us and that in the background, always in the background, perhaps not be yours, but my love, and I thought that was only able to see, and desamar was no longer able to see, understand? Sore-colorful, I'm repeating slowly so that you can understand, better (...)I was saying, what is even though I was saying? Ah: you know, between two people these things should always be spoken, for example, I could delve it and finish that you don't like me enough, but not deepening not conclude anything, I'm just wanting to tell you how I expected when we reported anything, as I looked at the clock and walked since without thinking and nothing, but definitely not, isn't it, I still wanted to get closer to what is there in the Center and that one day I discovered there, because I didn't thought that exist, I think it was the fact that you from that made me discover so many things. It is essential that you listen to every word, every, and don't get trying to discover hidden meanings behind what I'm saying, Yes, I recognize that often talked by metaphors, and that is chatíssimo talk by metaphors, at least for anyone who listens, and then, you know, I always had this concern idiot to say things they don't ferissem.
