I only have to drive a short distance to be up in the sandhills of Nebraska. It's much prettier in the summer and fall. You can see the snow we got Sunday is nearly gone already. It's suppose to warm up into the 50's this week but it's terribly windy today. At least the sun is shining and the skies are blue.

But aren't there many times in one's life that we tend to hang on to the old - the familiar - when we should be moving onward and upward to the new challenges that await us.

Original metadata labeled this image as "415/04 PLATYPUS AND KEEPER POSSIBLY HEALESVILLE SANCTUARY c1930s GLS MISCELLANEOUS"
However, thanks to some super-sleuth social media followers, we have discovered that this image was used in the book "We Breed the Platypus" by David Fleay, Director of Healesville Sanctuary with the caption, "In 1939 just before the outbreak of the great bush-fires, H.G. Wells met Jill, and incidentally his first living platypus."

Our cataloguing systems haven't really changed since 1960s, but indexing and searching has been computerized. Plus we invented subject headings somewhere along the line.
