My make a mess page a few days on. It still looks pretty cool but the icing is starting to come out.

What was often interesting was what state of dishevelment the landlord/agent/whoever was willing to show us an apartment in. In this case, I think the era is "late OCD backlash."

In a week or so, there'll be a major!

HAWAII KAI, Hawaii (Jan. 27, 2015) Chiefs and first class petty officers from various Hawaii-wide commands hike the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail, Jan. 27. Hosted by Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, the hiking event is part of CPO 365, a year-round training initiative that helps prepare first class petty officers to become chiefs. our day of pickup games turned into a pretty fun mess.

...and the living room a little bit. Two more chairs to put together, but mostly I'm just excited to have a dining room! that we can eat in! Eeep!

For some, the process of vacating a place and moving on is a bit like Sherman's march through Georgia. That is, mark your passing by leaving as much ugliness behind as possible.

(One interesting coincidence: in this case as well as "Junkyard 1," a common factor is the same realtor's sign. Hmmm...)

This is... well... an "Accidental Mess" ;)

When I got my blending board, I grabbed some bits of leftover fibers and proceeded to blend them. Wool, silk, chunky bits and fabric scraps - everything went into these rollags. This should have created some lovely chunky art yarn.

However, once I was ready to spin the rollags, I just went with the flow. The flow demanded they be spun a lot thinner than I had originally planned.

When I was done, I looked at my bobbin and couldn't settle on a plying method. It was either winding off half of the single to create a two-ply, plying with two strands of sewing thread or chain-plying.

Then, while browsing a local thrift store, I discovered option no. 4. One of their bins held several (tangled!) balls of a cheerfully pink novelty yarn that is really not much more than sewing thread with eyelash-y bits.

At home, I introduced my single to this pink novelty yarn and an "Accidental Mess" was born. Go figure ;)
