Early afternoon on a scorching hot Easter Monday at Oulton Park for the opening round of the British GT Championship saw the usual array of emergency vehicles dotted around the circuit.
Despite other operators providing medical cover around the circuit perimeter it was still left to the specialist teams to provide medical care for the competitors during the event.
Parked up at Lodge corner, was this older ambulance from the BRSCC waiting to go into action if needed.
The red sandstone building in the background is the Grade II*-listed entrance lodge to the original Oulton Estate, the site that the current day circuit is built upon, and dates back to 1775.
Personally, I think Oulton Park is the best race circuit in the country with a bit of everything; gradient, sweeping corners and a parkland setting.
Indeed, former British Touring Car Champion and ex-Formula 1 driver Joachim Winkelhock once described the circuit as a 'mini-Nurburgring'. Enough said.

2002 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1 CDI 311
I was quite pleased to find this one parked up outside Great Yarmouth Police Station.
This mobile CCTV van must surely be the oldest vehicle in the Norfolk fleet, if not one of the oldest serving police vehicles in the country.
Despite being twenty years old it has covered less than 20,000 miles from new.
Since new it has been re-liveried twice (see below) so they obviously have no intention of parting with it in the near future.
Apart from a few minor rust spots that could easily be fixed it looks in remarkably good condition so will probably be around for some time to come.

Basking in the late afternoon sunshine on the coastal road at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
Being a bit of an anorak, I still don't know why the battenburg livery has been applied so high up on the newer batch of Sprinters. The older EEAS units never had it and, to my knowledge, neither do any other NHS ambulances.

Looking out of the window to see if the relentless rain had stopped on a miserable Thursday afternoon, I found this parked on my doorstep. Not sure if it was on a shout (no signs of Blues ans Twos) but it sat there for a while before trundling off.

From a previous visit to the Merry Hill shopping centre, and the only photo I took on that occasion, two small buses belonging to the Rotala group owned Diamond Bus West Midlands operation were found on layover in the bus station.
The Mellor Strata bodied Mercedes Sprinter was new to Diamond in February 2019, whilst the Optare Solo M780SE originated with Nippy Bus of Martock in July 2010.
KU59 AVF at Old Warden Airfield. In attendance for the Shuttleworth Collection's Flying Festival 2019.
With its high ride height and chunky tyres this Mercedes Sprinter looks like it may have some off road capability.

First Kernow Ilesbus bodied Mercedes 519Cdi 54114 heads out of Penzance. From observations in Mousehole itself, it appears the outward opening doors aren't ideal in the very narrow streets and the long rear overhang is an issue on the tight corners.
First Kernow Ilesbus bodied Mercedes 519Cdi 54112. The first of the new Mousehole minibuses - all three wear slight different liveries. Strangely the second of the three Mercedes now seems to have completely disappeared?
