BV66GSO 44008 is ex Stagecoach East Kent and now enjoying a more sedate life in Cumbria based in Kendal and seen at Windermere Station being used as a rest area for the drivers.
Hot transport news from Sheffield today was the reintroduction of the SYPTE-funded city centre circular after an eight year absence. This previously operated as the FreeBee, firstly under TM Travel between 2007 and 2011, and then with First for the final three years. Huddersfield-based South Pennine CT - seemingly the only operator willing to take any work from the PTE at the minute - are in charge this time, and - likely because there is a £1 flat fare for passengers without passes or tickets purchased on other buses - the service has been branded as Sheffield Connect rather than FreeBee.
Two Sprinters which are uncommon examples of vehicles in the South Pennine fleet with destination equipment and automatic doors have been given subtle branding and are being used to maintain a ten minute frequency seven days per week. HXZ9504 is seen here with the 12:50 trip on Norfolk Street which, together with nearby Surrey Street, had been unserved by buses since the withdrawal of the FreeBee. The new service is following a similar route to the old one, though the 2020 pedestrianisation of Pinstone Street is necessitating routing via West Street, Carver Street, and Rockingham Street.

One of Merseyside's POV (Public Order Vehicle) / CCTV vans answering a call in West Derby, Liverpool on a wintry, not to mention bitterly cold, Sunday afternoon.
I heard this one crawling through the ice and slush so grabbed the camera quickly.
After a couple of days of snow showers most of the side roads in the area were treacherous with frozen snow and ice and I'd seen and heard no end of cars sliding along as they struggled to get from A-B. So I was amazed that something this heavy didn't keep going when the brakes were applied!

Ahead of this weekend when Marshall's finish operating their 90, Vectare were out today in one of their shiny new Sprinters doing a spot of route learning.
208 pauses at Lombard Street on route learning duties.
Late break and an hour late off! But overall not too a busy shift..

The Freightliner Sprinter is just a rebadged Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The rebadge is facilitated by the fact that both Mercedes and Freightliner exist under the Daimler umbrella.
The Freightliner makes sense as an acquisition for a fleet like the NYPD, since the idea of a government acquiring Mercedes-badged vehicles (seen almost exclusively as prestigious luxury vehicles here in North America) might invite some public outcry. The Freightliner variant allows the NYPD to get all the benefits of the Sprinter without the badge issues.
