The most detailed commission I've ever done, recreating a fully detailed Dutch Ambulance (a modified Mercedes-Benz Sprinter). Complete with a full interior filled with cabinets and medical equipment, as well as a stretcher. Via hidden buttons in the roof, you can open the rear doors and the sliding door on the side to get access into the interior, or simply remove the entire roof.

2006-2008 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
I've been a regular at the British Grand Prix for the past 25 years but 2019 was my first experience of the Belgian Grand Prix.
The British Red Cross provide medical cover off-circuit at Silverstone and their Belgian counterparts do likewise at Spa-Francorchamps with a range of vehicles dotted around the site.
One of the contingent was this older Mercedes Sprinter parked up away from the crowds waiting to go into action.

London Ambulance Service Mercedes Sprinter ambulances in 1/48th scale by Fire Brigade Models and smaller one in 1/76th scale by Oxford Diecast.
If it wasn't for the lamp post and sign I would have got a better front shot. Don't know what it is doing here as no officers were with it and it is nowhere near Mansfield or Ashfield!

For some time I’ve wanted an Ambulance model which I could place alongside bus models from the 80’s and 90’s. This Hong Kong example, a MKII Ford Transit was the closest I could find in 1:76 scale. Some nail polish remover and a few waterslide transfers and she is now a Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) wagon. Some creative licence was taken but I’m very happy with the result. A nice way to ease myself back in and kick start my motivation for this hobby. It is pictured alongside a semi-modern Mercedes Sprinter box body ambulance. Standing next to both are two Ambulance staff in different uniforms. Next to the modern Mercedes the Paramedic wears an all green uniform. Next to the Ford the crew wears all over blue.

A rare Mercedes Sprinter amidst the sea of Transits, South Pennine's HXZ9503 is seen as it makes its way through High Hoyland with the 09:30 Denby Dale to Barnsley 99.
The 99 was introduced last September, operating three journeys in each direction on Saturdays-only. High Hoyland had not seen buses for a number of years prior to this - I seem to recall it previously fell on a route between Barnsley and Denby Dale.

The Belgian Red Cross has recently started to apply UK-style battenburg livery to it's newer vehicles and, it has to be said, it really does look rather smart.

Rambling Rotala.
Rotala owned Preston Bus has expanded outside of the city limits with tendered services in the Fylde area formerly operated by Coastal Coaches of Wharton. Passing through Lytham on the 78 service to Great Eccleston is Mellor Strata bodied Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 21200.

After the events at parliament had occurred, there was large scale public dis-order, with breakaway groups causing unplanned demonstrations in other parts of the city.

One of Merseyside's older POV (Public Order Vehicle) / CCTV vans parked up up in Whitechapel, Liverpool City Centre.
The centre of Liverpool is usually very busy on the last Friday before Christmas, especially in the evening, with late-night Christmas shoppers and revellers getting ready for the traditional Christmas night out.
I got this shot at 8.45PM and the place was unusually quiet. Still, the boys (and girls) in blue were on hand to keep tabs on things.
This particular van is now on borrowed time with Merseyside Police in the process of withdrawing the 2012 batch of Sprinters and replacing them with newer versions.
Saw the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team in action when we were on holiday. You can find out more about the team by visiting their website. You might also consider donating to this volunteer service.

First Kernows Falmouth Coaster open top service had reverted to the back roads for the 2022 season, leaving the otherwise pedestrianised Church Street once again to the OTS operated Town Centre Loop route 60. In a similar spot to where I photographed Firsts open top service in November 2021, OTS' Mercedes-Benz Sprinter V22OTS passes under the bunting that adorns this street.
382 (LO67CFK) can be seen turning onto Blagrave Street as it heads for St Mary's Butt's from Kenavon Drive on the 42.
Probably the most problematic vehicle in the Reading Buses fleet, spending more time off road than in service. With the ex-Stagecoach Enviro300SGs due to enter service, the future for 382 is unknown.
2003 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.6 CDI 416
Just after 8AM on Easter Monday at Oulton Park for the opening round of the British GT Championship saw preparations underway for race day activities.
Despite other operators providing medical cover around the circuit perimeter it was still left to the specialist teams to provide medical care for the competitors during the event.
Making it's way out of the pit lane was this older ambulance from the BRSCC heading towards it's first station point of the day.
Personally, I think Oulton Park is the best race circuit in the country with a bit of everything; gradient, sweeping corners and a parkland setting.
Indeed, former British Touring Car Champion and ex-Formula 1 driver Joachim Winkelhock once described the circuit as a 'mini-Nurburgring'. Enough said.

Smithfield Ambulance Station..
Called in on my way home to say hi to one of my old three training stations from my time in London Ambulance Service.
We rotated round three stations, Waterloo, Bloomsbury and this one, Smithfield whilst training and post qualification wait to get posted back to the area of London you came from, in my case Wimbledon.
Great memories!
Said hi to a couple crews that came and went whilst I had some lunch at the cafe opposite.
