A group of farmers taking a break after carrying stacks of grasses collected nearby. Each stack sold between IDR30K - 50K as ruminant green feed.
Bukit Glagahsari is supposed to be the best and closest vista point to view Mount Merapi with only 6 km distance to its summit. Unfortunately, the supposedly breathtaking picturesque vista was overcast with heavy clouds.

at the top we met some crazy lads planning to jump from the top. In the end they thought better of it and gave up.

The entrance. An abandoned bunker simply called the BUNKER at Dusun Kaliadem. The bunker could accommodate around 50 people in an emergency during a pyroclastic flow, but not a foolproof shelter against a fast-moving current of hot gas and rock which reaches speeds moving away from a volcano of up to 700 km/h, and the gas can reach temperatures of about 1,000 °C.
Local aid agencies are being stretched to capacity. The fatigue is etched into the face of this local Red Cross worker.

This is a hazardous activity. Any sudden downpour of heavy rainfall will cause subsequent cold lava flow and they could be easily trapped.
Mt Merapi is one of the worlds "decade" volcanoes due to it being very active and surrounded by millions of people. 2900m odd to the top.
Le merapi est le volcan le plus actif au monde, sa dernière grosse éruption date de 2 ans, plusieurs villages ont été rasés de la carte , c'est la raison pour laquelle nous n'avons pu monter au sommet du volcan.
Cependant nous avons quand même marché pendant 8h, et nous nous sommes pas mal rapproché.
