A hand cleans a plastic sheets covered with volcanoes ash from Merapi mount at the village of Babadan. Mount Merapi or Fire mountain has erupted scores of times over the last 200 years. It is one of the world active volcanoes. In 1994, 60 people were killed by a searing gas clouds while in 1930, more than a dozen village were incinerated, leaving 1,300 dead.

An observation tower build with the cooperation of the regional Rotary Club International. This is supposed to be the best and closest vista point to view Mount Merapi with only 6 km distance to its summit. Unfortunately, the supposedly breathtaking picturesque vista was overcast with heavy clouds.
