HCS!

Only my second full day in Chicago and I woke to this lovely sight out my kitchen window! The snow fall did not last long and did not amount to much more than what is on the ground in this photo but it was wonderful. Won't last for Christmas and no snow predicted the coming week so no 'white Christmas' for me but given the fact that 50-60 inches of snow is forecast this winter, I expect I will get all I want and ever so much more before spring rolls around. Ask me how much I am enjoying the snow come March ok?

It's strange how some memories stick in the mind more than others. Ever since I started scanning my old slides, a few years ago now, I have been looking forward to finding this one. There is nothing especially remarkable about it: Class 31 No. 31168 stands at Grantham with the 04:05 King's Cross - Leeds on Saturday 20th August 1977. But it's the image of alighting at this practically deserted station early on a summer Saturday morning that has replayed itself in my mind time and time again over the years, usually when I'm cooking, funnily enough. Why this particular memory should re-visit me so frequently I don't know, but it's a happy one, and I'm comforted by its ordinaryness. My friend Mark and I travelled from here by two different dmus to reach the Lincolnshire coast, but that's another story.

the day memories take over... it only takes one step to reach the light

This was a gift from a friend.........

This is a World War II cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg, one of so many in Europe. It is a haunting and sad place. Over 5000 American soldiers, including General Patton are buried there. I think many of them lost their lives during the Battle of the Bulge. War is a horrible thing!!!!

Throughout our lives we accumulate memories we’d rather forget. For people who’ve experienced a serious trauma, such as combat experience, domestic violence, or childhood abuse, these memories can be more than unwelcome.

Although painful or traumatic memories can be difficult to forget, there are ways to manage them. Identifying your triggers, talking to a therapist, memory suppression, exposure therapy, and medication are just some possible strategies for dealing with bad memories.

Play a couple of "memory trigger" records and the view of the Christmas tree from my seat at the computer can momentarily become a little blurred but, hey, salt water is good for the eyes!

There are advantages of spending Christmas on your own. One of them is that you can indulge in sentimental moments...others include having that entire box of chocolates to yourself and as for the alcohol....let it flow, let it flow, let it flow!

Happy Christmas all, and an optimistic 2022.

À force de collectionner les appareils photos Numérique

On se retrouve avec un joli paquet de cartes mémoire.

By dint of collecting digital cameras

We end up with a nice package of memory cards.

Our last shot of the Utah Railway on our trip. It was no doubt the best day of railfanning I'd ever had with a good group of guys. Most know etiquette for goobing. First there gets to pick their spot then everyone else works around him. If you're in front of the guy you ask if you're alright where you are. This format was followed until Kendra decided he was going to go crashing down the hill about 100ft as the bitch rolled up on us. Well played KO!!! It was a great trip with a lot of laughs and way less frustration than I was expecting. I will remember it for a long time. Especially the fact that Kenny is a cow fucker, Justin punches like a little bitch, and Jesse has a little loadstone in him... I said it. So long Utah!!! Onto Wyoming we went...

So many good times with our son...never to be forgotten. Just a portion of the "wall of fame" :) Got smart...after a couple of concussions....stopped the football stuff.

Memories are left for all to see on the dining room table at the First Premium farmhouse.I don't have a slide projector, but there are probably some great scenes on those old slides....

This is my first time came to this beach. This beach is popular with 'Ikan Bakar' or Grilled fish among the local. It's a wonderfull experience to capture the sunset moment here. SubhanaAllah. Praise to God for this beautiful moment

Rocky Point Discount Tires

So happy to see this sign still stands, My entire life driving through My Home town it was always there, now a Mavis tire but the sign remains.

I remember My Dad taking Me to the Allstate office behind the sign, when I turned 16 to add Me to His insurance policy.
