of Bahman Farzad (January 1, 1944 - July 8, 2016). May the serenity, inspiration, and perfection of Bahman's work live on challenging us to make our world a brighter place in which to live. From portraits to lotus flower blooms - always mesmerizing. He was a Flickr member who shared his internationally-acclaimed work, along with the EXIF data, and took time to provide an occasional comment of affirmation to fellow photographers. This image was back in my archives but I wanted to find one that was "bright." So this pink tulip is posted in memory of Bahman Farzad.

Huntington Beach, California

The morning was clear and pleasant, but the air was dead calm. We decided to check out the surfers at Huntington Beach, but we thought that perhaps the water would be flat. Happily, the remnants of a tropical storm offshore were providing some nice waves.
This young man seems to have caught the wave well and is focused on an extended ride.
