NJ Transit GP40PH-2B 4204 brings a westbound over the now dormant WR draw. This photo was taken on September 12, 2002 and in a little over a week no more trains would run through here.

Very old photo i took when we visited Venice back in 2007.
It's also one of my favourites, main because of the happy memories of the trip there. A truly lovely place

The thistle is gone from the meadows now, but I still have golden memories.

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.” - Kevin Arnold

Memory is like patches of sunlight in an overcast valley, shifting with the movement of the clouds. Now and then the light will fall on a particular point in time, illuminating it for a moment before the wind seals up the gap, and the world is in shadows again.

'We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds'
When I move...I don't want to forget the greenness. My memory has never been very good but I remember the colors of my life. They influenced me today.
Oh, so does anyone have instagrid? I'm just starting to get into it!(It's a love hate relationship. I feel that goes without saying for us photographers!!) I'm going to try to put a little more effort into it. As of now it's just various candids of my life.

My grandchildren would probably not know what to make of this graffiti-covered empty pay phone shell, a ghost of something that was once a part of everyday life. Cell phones have taken over to such an extent that a generation already exists that has not seen or experienced a pay phone.
I wondered about all the life experiences that were shared at this phone booth - experiences trivial and significant, happy and sad, unforgettable and quickly forgotten.
Seeing this relic on Toronto's River Street started me thinking about other aspects of life that were very familiar to me but will be unknown to my grandchildren. Examples are many but video rental stores and phone answering machines came to mind immediately.
You can probably think of many other vanishing memories - victims of our rapidly-changing world.

"By agreement with the landlord, either the phone company pays rent for the location and keeps the revenue, or the landlord pays rent for the phone and shares the revenue. Payphones are often found in public places to contribute to the notion of universal access to basic communication services." (Wikipedia)
Memory Lapses are temporary installations I photograph to revisit places linked to strong memories, past or recent.
By overexposing reflective material in the process, data becomes absent from the digital file, creating an empty zone in the image that alters reality and distorts our perception : like time and distance do.
