There are certain memories of mine that I have thought about so much, letting them replay in my head, that they have become faded. I liken it to a pillow that has been repeatedly fluffed: the imprint of my head once resting on it is now gone since I've beaten it so much. Memories fade, the colors lose their shine in my mind, features on faces soften away, and light shines less. I wish it wasn't this way. I hold those memories close to heart, trying desperately to remember, but it never seems to work.

A child remembers her mother, hearing the scarf whisper about that magical hike through the woods on a crisp fall day.

I call this photo memories because when I look at the shells David and I picked up on the beach they remind me of the holiday David and I had at the coast.

They remind me of the time spent on the beach, seeing him in the distance while I did what I had to do which was just be alone for a moment. I can not only see but hear the ocean and feel the water rushing over my feet. I can see us rushing to get out of the rain and me laughing as we slip trying to get up the sand bank. I can hear David saying to me " get a bag, you wanted to take some sand home, well here it is" and me laughing at how much sand he was tipping out of his shoes.

Such beautiful memories and ones that I will treasure always. The most precious souvenirs' are not ones bought in a shop but the little things that come free.

I'm following the last months of a traditional clothing store in a small Spanish city that is going to close after more than 50 years of actvity...

That room was full of clothes some months ago and the woman that appears in the window is the owner of the shop... After several visits, she is explaining me the origin of the shop as well as all the social changes that she has to face along the past half century...

Old picture of Li and Kai never uploaded cause it was too similar to another one I posted. This was before Kai got his chest and neck tattooed and Li her calavera makeup.

I really love this photo, its one of my faves of them together. ♥

Hope you are had a great weekend, last one of the year! ;))

♥ Thanks for visiting!

Memories of a Wonderful Summer we had.

Taken from Queen Margaret Bridge just up from the old BBC building, this is the humpback footbridge over the Kelvin that links the Kelvin Walkway and the Botanic Gardens.

The scene was pretty much monochrome already so converting to black and white seemed to make sense. A bit more minimalist than I'm used to, but I thought it looked quite atmospheric.

It was a December morning when thick mist enveloped Glasgow's west end. The visibility was quite a bit worse than this image would suggest, but I find there's something about taking a picture from within mist or fog that tends to add clarity and definition the eye can't quite resolve. Or perhaps it's a failure of technique, I don't know.

The title's a bit of an indulgence, I know, but there's something about the receding clarity of the view upriver that brings to mind that word. The foreground trees and branches are recent events, fresh in the mind, and the faint hint of distant foliage beyond the bridge is a faded old memory you know is there, but can't quite fully recall.

If this is my last night with you

Hold me like I'm more than just a friend

Give me a memory I can use

Take me by the hand while we do what lovers do

It matters how this ends

'Cause what if I never love again?.......

Somewhere

in that corner

where the light

dissipates

a vault stands

collecting memories

of people's smiles.

The air surrounds it

envelopes the soul

of each

guarding them

with memories

of its own.

Still memories.

i found a card containing images that i had taken this past fall...somehow i forgot to donwload them...so here they are!

Dug deeper in my archives, for a change - and picked this unassuming scene. Back in 2007 (yes, I have that much unseen material) Taksim Square was as crowded as you can imagine. always was - until last year's events when any gathering of even a small crowd became a threat to public order and the square was blocked and put under tight police control. Now it's peaceful and quiet. Better?...

I couldn't help but notice the sheer pleasure this wonderful lady was having by simply messing about in the sea with her grand (possibly great) children :-)

This is a shot that I took yesterday during a beautiful warm day .... today, it's miserable and raining!!
