My soul is like a wounded bird..can not fly wings...

My soul longs for yours,

In a hurry, traveling about the world.

She's like a wounded bird,

Longs, looking into the sky.

As a little kid in well worn jeans and cowboy boots, I played on these boulders and many others on our property reliving the adventures I constantly read about in my various tree houses scattered about the 6 acres. When my parents decided to move here full time while I was in high school, these same rocks were where I perched looking for any teen with a car to drive down our dead end road and save me from certain death of boredom! Once I could legally drive the El Camino, even if it was just to the local dump, I was free! Such funny memories. Now I'm selling the property for estate purposes and all those memories keep flooding up. Damn I hated planting all the bulbs every fall but look how nice it turned out!

I'm going to miss the old prison!

Here is my entry for the Memory Box Fall Challenge. The Memory Box Products I used are:

D1123 - Oak Leaf and Acorn

B1053 - Just A Note

Memory Box Kraft A2 size cards

Memory Box Tinsel 6x6 paper collection

I love this Oak Leaf stamp and decide to make the acorn solid gold leaf. It is subtle but pretty in person. I also took Brilliance Inks Cosmic Copper and Galaxy Gold and sponged the edges with these inks. I have included another photo if you want to see the shimmer better - just go to the previous photo.

To participate in this challenge and to look at future challenges look at the Memory Box Blog here.

I have also realized that I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge. This is only my second time getting to participate in there challenge and this time I did not use any Sweet and Sassy stamps...sorry to say. To participate in this challenge look at the The Sweet Stop Blog here.

Thanks for looking!

Memories are like a window that connect you to the past!

You can only see them, but you can't touch ...!

This old chap came to The Library to have "one last look" at the work he donated some 30 years ago. 90 years old, and now living in the North of England, he produced a 30 volume study of the Ffestiniog Railway. Full of his own photographs, maps and beautiful hand written text.

Every now and then he would leave a page open, "...There she is.." he would mutter, and reach out to touch a photograph in which his wife, recently deceased, appears.

Libraries and archives hold more than just dusty old books.

MEMORIES LIKE BUTTERFLIES

Your face is but a wishful thought

Though the tears are real with salty bite

As a yearning , not relinquishing aught

To soothe my soul, and smile as might

A fathers love so all consuming

Passion, pride within your heart so strong

Blissful ignorance the child, as fate was looming

Not comprehending your demise so wrong

The good are taken, or so it seems to me

Before their time by fate and circumstance

If wishes granted, what then I wonder would mine be?

Once more the child again with you, per chance

Protected by your arms around me

Games of fun and laughter played

In those childlike eyes did you see

What you meant to me, portrayed?

Memories as butterflies

Grown the boy, myself a man

But still the tears no matter how I try

To thwart the pain as best I can

Beating hearts and pulsing veins

Treasured moments in this, my journey

The legacy of your love remains

And your shining light still pulses through me

關於微醺記憶

About Memories.

six of me!

i don't really enjoy this one so much, but it goes with my theme of "memories of childhood".

if i were to reshoot this, i would have WAY more happier facial expressions. since the theme of this project was "memories of childhood", i realized that children do not normally have serious facial expressions. I think i was annoyed by the sun streaming in my face.

Also, I do not know what the "onas" on the slide are supposed to be doing. Once again, they have much too serious faces.

I just happened to call into Staples in Eastbourne and they had these memory sticks, reduced from 20 something pounds to £4, and I couldn't resist them :) On the way home I popped them on the dash whilst stopped at traffic lights and daily snap done.

Prom yesterday!

"positive highschool memories? WHAT?!?!? that ludacris!"

i was on the planning comitte and everything. I'm glad it turned out great. I had so much fun. That's me and my date/secret handshake buddy Willliam and my friend Kebei.

i felt purdy haha.

Hope you all are having a fantastic week :)

Mine has been pretty stressful not gonna lie. I have 3 major projects and english speech, bible speech, and biological origins paper, and i've been trying to help with prom as much as possible. I found out i'm failing chemistry too, not even at a decent fail (???) but it's like at the point where no matter what i do the highest i can get my grade up is at a high end of the F spectrum or a low D. I hate chemistry :/ Well all my nice pretty colleges are screwed huh. Failing my junior year...maybe i'll just be a backpacker or a carney, that would be interesting haha.

Just a tiny metal box. I think it contained tea when I bought it many years ago.

I kept it because I just like the images and colors.

Below is an old necklace that belonged to my Mama, who died December 1980.

It isn't worth anything, but it's priceless to me.
