I had a trip down memory lane when I visited Barry Island this summer

I haven't been there in years.

i can remember coming here by train (what excitement) and we would sit on this very wall, watch the sea

ebbing and flowing and

eat our 'gritty' sandwiches, ( no matter how hard my parents tried to avoid it, we still managed to

get sand on our bread). Even this brings back happy memories and are talked about with laughter,

Those were the days when the summers seemed to be sunny, hot and long.

Why don't you share your childhood memories too.?.....we all have them.

Memory is like patches of sunlight in an overcast valley, shifting with the movement of the clouds. Now and then the light will fall on a particular point in time, illuminating it for a moment before the wind seals up the gap, and the world is in shadows again.

I have very early childhood memories of my Dad's oil can. Why? I have no idea. But I can tell you that I do not ever recall a time when this oil can wasn't present in my Dad's workbench, wherever it was that he lived. He had a small work room in a house we lived in Tujunga, which is where my earliest memories are from, and I can recall clearly the oil can sitting on the shelf above the workbench. There was a workbench in the garage of the house we moved into in Sunland when I was in elementary school, and there again I remember the oil can on the shelf. When we moved to Yreka when I was middle school age, I helped my father build a garage workbench out of the old cabinets we tore out of the kitchen, and on the garage window sill was the spot for the oil can. As an adult, I remember my Dad building workbenches in each of the homes in which he lived, and the oil can was always present. This oil can is at least 50 years old, and still functions perfectly. As an adult, I have personally gone through four or five oil cans, as they simply wear out, or quit working, or start leaking, or something. An oil can is a simple, messy, but necessary tool, which is easily lost or forgotten or not noticed. My Dad is gone now, and it's not like this old oil can was anything special or precious to him. Still, I keep it handy, even though my workbench area is not nearly as nice as any of Dad's were. It's just a little reminder of him and his life, and of simple memories that last a long time.

I can't claim credit for this photo (obvs!) and I can't remember who did take it. Possibly one of my family or a friend but whoever it was thank you for reminding me of hot summer days racing, from a cold, damp, gloomy winter day !.

'We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds'

When I move...I don't want to forget the greenness. My memory has never been very good but I remember the colors of my life. They influenced me today.

Oh, so does anyone have instagrid? I'm just starting to get into it!(It's a love hate relationship. I feel that goes without saying for us photographers!!) I'm going to try to put a little more effort into it. As of now it's just various candids of my life.

It is the memories we hold that are precious. Like delicate flowers they can whither and die unless nurtured.

Memory Lapses are temporary installations I photograph to revisit places linked to strong memories, past or recent.

By overexposing reflective material in the process, data becomes absent from the digital file, creating an empty zone in the image that alters reality and distorts our perception : like time and distance do.

Hay recuerdos que se borran con la edad como la niebla a la realidad,

tú ayúdame a recordarte si con el tiempo te llego a olvidar. [ 3a y 1m tQ.♥ ]

There are memories that fade with age as the fog to reality

you help me remember if over time you get to forget.

Il ya des souvenirs qui s'estompent avec l'âge comme le brouillard à la réalité

vous m'aider à me rappeler si le temps vous arrivez à oublier.

One year my Pops dressed up as Father Christmas and brought me this monkey as my gift. An unusual gift perhaps, but I was immediately smitten. I tried to give Monkey a proper name, but Monkey was the only one that ever stuck. I did not have many toys as a kid, but I did had one or two “prettier” ones, yet Monkey was without a doubt my favourite. Unique and different – the toy I treasured the most. Monkey always had the prized position in my games and at night would fall asleep in my arms.

Yes, that is a band-aid on Monkey’s face. As kids, my brother would torture Monkey and on a number of occasion he pulled off the eyes and nose – these had to be glued back every time, but this left terrible scars – which I tried to heal with a band-aid and love…

I remember this Christmas eve so clearly and for so many reasons this will always be my most favourite Christmas memory. Pops, I miss you every day <3

I was clearing out a cupboard in my parent’s home recently and decided Monkey needed to come home with me <3

In memory of my father

"the ghost in the picture, the smile on the face, the absence of words, are taking the place of what's inside you, what's inside me? the shoebox is open, to what we left behind...

the ghost in the picture is smiling and waving goodbye..."

Childhood bedroom, it looks very different today. Just looking through the doorway, brings a flood of memories back to me.

there's a bit of a story behind this one, so bear with me ... recently on a fun-filled flickrwalk to yosemite, we were all lined up on a bridge waiting for the clouds to clear so we could get some images of the evening sun on the face of half dome ... the clouds never cleared but i kept looking over to yosemite falls and kept thinking something was so familiar about it ... i finally walked over to the parking lot and started looking thru the viewfinder and took a couple of shots of the upper falls just for the heck of it ... all the way home i was still trying to figure out just why i bothered with this shot ... the composition isn't the greatest, and in some ways it's kinda blah, and it's been bugging me ...

the other day a cousin called me and we talked for awhile and got talking about an aunt and uncle we used to visit, and it hit me!! ... the room i stayed in when i visited them had a picture almost just like this on the wall next to the bed i used to sleep in when visiting them ... i would fall asleep staring at in, almost hearing the roar of the falls ... so, here is the image with a bit of textures and some orton tossed about here and there to represent that picture my uncle took with his old folding camera ... thanks for the memories unc!

Memories vacation happy

The origins of the transport company Duperrex Frères SA date back to 1964. Since then, it has remained a family business which has developed significantly, particularly within the framework of a partnership with IKEA and in removals. The dynamism of the Lake Geneva region constituted a real opportunity for this company, which employs more than a hundred people and uses the most modern technologies to ensure its operation, notably the presence of certain electric vehicles.

The photos below show the different vehicles and employees who contributed to the company's development during the 1980s and 1990s.

Chris MacDonald's: Memories of Elvis in Concert

Coral Springs Center For The Arts ~ 1/12/19

South Florida ~ Coral Springs, Florida U.S.A.

Chris MacDonald is a local guy from our city who has been doing his Memories of Elvis tribute concert for many years. His show is superb and he really gives you your money's worth. Three hours of music fun! Thought I'd cover the concert as a tribute to him...and Elvis' Birthday.

Chris MacDonald lovingly brings back the magic of “the King of Rock-n-roll” with his tribute Memories of Elvis. 42 years ago, we lost one of the greatest entertainers and pop culture icons of our time. His concert is a celebration of the life and music of Elvis Presley. Chris has performed in the famous Legends in Concert stage productions throughout the country and has actually appeared with Elvis' own original back up group the Jordanaires. Adding to the authenticity of his tribute, this experienced and energetic entertainer has the honor of being the only tribute artist approved and contracted by Elvis Presley Enterprises for the annual Elvis week and Birthday week festivities at Graceland's Heartbreak Hotel for 7 consecutive years (2000 - 2006). His concert is a totally enjoyable tribute to an All-American Legend in a truly dynamic performance complete with costumes, dancers and a high-energy concert band. Amazing concert every time. Loved it!
