Dreadknight legs, minus the teleporter beacons and footrests.

Eat This! book about a comprehensive architecture plan for a public marketbuilding, global market- and foodculture by Nio Architects. With texts by Phillip Mechanicus and Maurice Nio, edited by Joan Almekinders, photography by Otto Snoek, published by 1001 publishers. Eat This! is based on a (chinese hotel coupon-book) and printed in 4 different editions each with a different colours of paper. The sleeve is handstamped on chinese take-away paper. The default, legs-akimbo pose of the dreadknight is somewhat ridiculous, so I'm repositioning at least one of them into something more dynamic. Here are the separated sections - they look a bit rough, but once they're back together you won't be able to tell.

Project complete! Still not sure what I'm going to do with the mis-cast one on the upper right.

I need some decently sized Adeptus Mechanicus symbols for a terrain project I'm working on. The problem? No one makes the damn things any more. So, the only solution is to make my own.

I'm building the base model out of balsa wood and other stuff I have lying around the place, then I'll take a mould off it and make as many as I need! Theoretically :)

I'm widening the torso, both to fit the head/cabin, and to give the model more of a titan-like (titanic?) appearance.

First step - get a spare power plant and cut off one side...

The standard Land Raider, also known as the Land Raider Phobos, is an Imperial main battle tank and troop transport which serves as the "armoured fist of the Space Marines." Available to the Space Marines, the Traitor Legions of the Chaos Space Marines and the forces of the Inquisition and Adeptus Mechanicus, it is one of the most resilient and iconic armoured vehicles in the galaxy.

The dreadknight's pelvis - minus the baby carriage and ridiculous teleportation beacon things. I'm going to use this piece backwards, just to mix things up a bit.

What I have yet to mention, my friend's a major fan of the Adeptus Mechanicus and one fine day while researching for builds I have found this here video:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B0O9FJI6cw

It featured an awesome Adeptus Mechanicus army with some scratch-built figures. What I really liked were the spiderbots.

I recently acquired a Proxxon Micro Woodturning Lathe that's also compatible with plastics and figured it'd be a good way to try it out.

I lathed the body out of POM (Polyoxymethylene, also known as Delrin, Celcon or Hostaform) and glued the legs together from 1.5mm Styrene strips. With a bit of Green Stuff for finishing touches I was good to go.

My frequently-mentioned friend liked it so much that I'll be making a few more leg options and finally end up making a mold to mass-produce those little bots.

The body itself is roughly 1x2cm's, the legs included it's about 3x2cm, so it'd need a 40mm base (if used with a base).

Kit bashed Adeptus Mechanicus

The head/cabin is the upper turret from a Spess Muhreen Storm Raven. I've used the internal console piece upside down to add some bulk to the chin.

I haven't quite decided how I'm going to detail it yet. I'd like to have one of those pointy-mouth-plate-with-holes-things (I really need to brush up on my armour terminology) but I'm not sure how to attach it.

Mechanicus. If you were googling for a picture of an actual Mechanicus and landed here, sorry.

Continuing work on the banner pole for my Knight Titan.

Dreadknight legs, minus the teleporter beacons which just look silly.

I might use the offcuts as pistons elsewhere on the model.

Waaagh Rokkit Ajax's small turrets come from Puppetswar and I was very pleased to discover that they fit the various ports on the Sector Mechanicus terrain perfectly.
