It was here that the McGregor's mustered before the Battle of Culloden. Full of hope, they set off to fight in the last civil war fought on British soil and reinstate their rightful king Bonnie Prince Charles. The Luthe building was constructed circa 1886 and later housed a plumbing shop, furnace dealer and antique store. It now houses a retail store specializing in Victorian-era clothing.

The Dawson building was erected in 1860 to house a grocery store, and by 1912 it housed a mortuary and furniture store. In 1939 a fire swept through the building, killing eight persons by inhalation of fumes from the formaldehyde used by the mortuary. The building was then renovated and became a cabinet shop and archery factory and is now an antique store.
