The League of Professional Theatre Women led a Suffragette-themed march through Times Square to raise awareness about the underrepresentation of women in theatre and the performing arts. The league wants to see a 50-50 breakdown in professional performance groups by the year 2020.

On July 12, 2013, the Wayne State University Alumni Association hosted a Garden Party at the McGregor Reflecting Pool.

The building was extensively damaged in the July 19, 2018 tornado and the business was forced to relocate to a recently-vacated department store in a shopping mall south of downtown Marshalltown. The company hopes to return to the downtown area.

McGregor Correctional Facility in Wilton, NY. Originally, there was a rail road that ran up the mountain to a summer resort. The Hotel Balmoral burned in 1897. It was replaced by a sanatorium for MetLife employees suffering from TB, closing in 1945. In 1960, New York State opened a school for the developmentally disabled. Then in 1976, the Corrections Department took it over creating a medium security facility. The prison closed in July 2014 and it's fate is unknown. The road on the far right leads to Grant Cottage where Ulysses S Grant spent the last weeks of his life writing his memoirs.
Built circa 1886-1890 and was originally a confectionery and later a dry goods and grocery stores. It is currently part of a store that specializes in Victorian-era clothing and antiques.
